Angela, Yes Tuna cake became my alternative. Much less gross Very Happy

I made Cass a Tuna cake for her birthday, she snaffled it from the side and ate the whole lot!

But since I discovered the Fish4dogs sea Jerky, I've not been so inclined to cook. The dogs still consider then to be very high values treats but so much easier than cooking stuff, and really good for them.

A liver cake tip though... cook it with your doors and windows open, and out in on the window ledge to cool. Use an old baking tray and line it with baking paper.

I use a silicone cake tin, which I grease, the liver cake just pops out of it with no trouble. I make mine in the Magimix which I do put in the dishwasher! I have to say I often let my mixture down with a tbsp or so of oil, or milk or water, as it can be very thick and then doesn't rise as well, plus it clogs the mixer up.

Fortunately I'm not veggie as it can be quite aromatic! I cool it, chop it into little pieces and bag them, then pop them in the freezer. Then when I go out I just pop a bag in my pocket - Olly doesn't mind if it's frozen or thawed. I often return half a bag to the freezer and it seems fine. I tend not to keep it unfrozen as I find it gets mouldy quite quickly.

Can't wait to make the liver cake, sounds like Pen will love it, am having a shot at it tomorrow.....hopefully the dishwasher will do it's stuff with the food processor, OH bought me a magimix, might not like the idea of me having to throw it Wink
Thanks for all the good advice, re the "infamous" liver cake.

I have a kitchen aid food processer and it says I can put it in a dishwasher as long as you dismantle all the bits first. I am sure the magimix is the same.
