The lovely farmer at my local farmers market has just given me a big bag of pig liver and guess who the lucky recipients are going to be ?Smile

He said it's very strong and might upset their tums so just to give a little, I was going to just fry it up and give them a decent handful each in with their dinner tonight.

Do you think that's ok?

I used to fry but someone else suggested on here about coooking in water - less fat then.

I would cut it open when you think it is done to check it is cooked all of the way through - they won't mind it a bit tough (better over cooked then under I think for a dog).........it probably won't touch the side Wink

Or you could make some liver cake with it? I'd liquidise it and then mix it with flour and egg and water I think, probably garlic too - i remember it honking! I'm sure I got a recipe from here somewhere. Liver cakes a great training treat, I froze it in wee bags and took it out when I needed.

I met a lady with a giant schnauzer yesterday who was telling me about liver cake, and how she uses it in the show ring, sounds good stuff. If anyone does have a recipe could they post it, or let me have it, I would definitely have a go at making some. Thanks Smile
