Due to an incident in the park a week and half ago i have been informed whilst ringing up ro confirm where dogs can be on.off lead that all dogs must always stay on lead now with zero off lead areas.

Do people still want to go or do they want to pick a different meet etc how do people want to proceed. It seems a shame for the dogs not to be able to be off lead and have a hooley around.

I have pmed everyone and started a thread if people could respond on thread ...in lab liasions or gt thread so we can make a decision...im happy to go ahead with Gt if thats what people want to do. Also happy to rearrange if thats what people want...ie new location etc.

thanks stacey

Hi Stacey,

That's bad luck, mind you, checking it out was a good call.

It is a shame and Bramble is limited in the amount of time he can be walked on the lead. Still, I don't suppose we'll need to be walking all the time and if needed I can always carry the little fella.

We're happy to go with the flow. As we'd like to meet you all then if tomorrow's not on, we're very keen on arranging something else rather than giving up on the idea totally.

I'll be around on and off today, so I'll keep checking back when I can.

Cheers,
Andy.

Great news andy....I am wondering if it will still be tommorow but maybe at an alternative venue. As i dnt drive im pretty limited as to were but will find away to meet at any venue Smile

or happy to got to newstead but 11 dogs on lead who want to play seems a shame if that makes sense. I totally understand about brambles lead time aswell so will be watching the thread to see what other people reccomend or feel . Such a shame 1 incident has ruined that area for (

I wonder what happened - we were there last Sat morning in the early morning and didn't see/hear of anything? Then again Sam and our friend's dog were both on lead anyway, I wonder if this new rule means long lines are still ok or whether its short leads, hmm I'll have to check next time I'm there don't want to be getting myself into trouble!

For us I'm quite happy to stick with leads/training lines if you still want to go to Newstead as Sam's recall has been erm about 60% recently its only 100% if we're on our own, this little teenager keeps thinking I mean come back when you're ready... Rolling Eyes

I will watch the thread and see what everyone else thinks, I'm guessing a few will still be at work until later tonight.

hi ...i didnt think to ask about long lines sorry. hopefully get more responses later. Just didnt want people coming and being dissappointed as dogs are not allowed off lead ...i know my plan had been a off lead hooley lol.

I am slightly worried as taylor has a tendency to get snappy on lead so we are having a talk about this as it is a concern. Off lead he is lovely and very very dog friendly but on lead not so much .

Just rang them - apparently a dog went after some of the wildlife and members of the public got upset and complained that the rule was onlead and yet this dog/s wasn't.

The lady said long lines are fine - basically so long as you can get your dog back should anything untoward happen or if they aren't listening to verbal commands it's ok.

Still waiting to see what everyone says re tomorrow just rang them because I have been there a couple of times and wondered what the situation would be in future. Good job you flagged it up Stacey. Smile

I know clumber park has a lovely secure field that i went to with kit and her dog jake....would be lovely for a hooley off lead and it would be a large area to run around. But transport is an issue for us which is why newstaed apealled to me.

BUt i only have a short chain lead and am apprehensive about taylor on lead will wait and see how it pans out

It shouldn't be stressful Stacey - I'd rather re-arrange than you and Taylor not enjoy it.

oh no he has to learn at some point i just dnt want people to miss interpret his on lead reaction to their dogs andy...as he is lovely but is a lil monster on lead if that makes sense.

I dnt want to re arrange due to taylor...we will await the response as to how other people are feeling about being on lead. And make a decision im sure it will still go ahead but would rather people knew about being on lead else could have been problems tommorrow.

Sure Stacey, I understand. We remain happy to go with the flow. I'm sure Bramble will get something out of it whatever the limitations, but we're just as happy to rearrange if that's preferred.

I'll just keep track now and await further opinions.
