As I've mentioned Jenson is still scratching so I'm going to move him from dry food to tinned food, does anyone have any ideas on which is a good quality tinned food ? I don't think it will help but I seem to have tried everything i can think of and have given them a week or so to see if there is any improvement and as I have tried lots of things its taking ages and my poor little fella is still scratching.
Do you think it's a food allergy? Cassie used to scratch like mad, I tried several different hypoallergenic foods and none made any difference. The vet talked me into trying Royal Canin sensitivity control and I reluctantly did, convinced that it wasn't a food allergy. Within a week she stopped scratching.
About a year later I tried a different food, and the scratching started again. Her coat is just fabulous and it's been brilliant for her.
If you want to try it I have been emailed some discount codes recently.
So it might ne worth a

I've tried both Natures Diet and the Burns wet food for the boys and both are very good. I tried the Penlan farm stuff from Burns and it just seems a wee bit pricey for me!

I was going to ask the same - do you know what is causing him to itch?
If you're looking to move away from dried food, I'd recommend Nature Diet Sensitive (salmon and prawn) provided he's not got a problem with fish or rice. Or a raw diet if he tolerates that and you can do it. Also Yumega Plus, a holistic vet and other stuff. I'd avoid buying cheap treats which are full of additives and generally work on supporting his system.
Chappie or Butchers Tinned Tripe, very good, there is no wheat in it.

Hi thanks for the advice, no i don't know if it's a food allergy but his coat is dry (not silky soft like Bailey's) he hasn't got bald patches but he nibbles himself and scratches particularly his sides and his fur is thinning.
We've tried
Yumega plus oil
changed from jwb to wainwrights salmon and potato
thornit powder
herbal shampoo
froze his food to kill dust mites
another oil supplement added to food.
at the moment I'm changing over to tinned food.
washed carpets
changed bed
changed field where he walks
to be honest i just haven't got a clue when he's asleep he's fine it doesn't disturb him. But as soon as I get him up in a morning he takes a couple of steps stands on 3 legs and scratch's his sides and it continues on and off through the day, and nibbleing his back legs and sometimes paws.
