Melvin is a little trooper and was so well behaved, entering lots of classes here are his results as follows:
1) Fancy Dress (as if we wouldnt!!) - dressed as Santa Paws - Fourth place. (out of five, the dog who came first was Rudolph!).
2) Best Puppy Fifth (out of five which was a bit dissappointing...remembering its just for fun of course!
3) Best Pedigree Dog Fifth out of Six
4) Best Colour THIRD out of nine dogs - very pleased with that.
5) Most Handsome (no place) out of 13 dogs
6) Most Appealing eyes (no place) judge is definitely blind in my ever so unbiased opinion!
7) Best Junior - Cookie handled Melvin really well but didnt get placed which was a shame. Class of 13 entrants. (she kept a nice loose lead on Melvin, praised him when appropriate and didnt drag him around the ring).
8.) Dog Judge would like to take home. FIRST out of a whopping 18 dogs WHOOP - way to go Melvin and Cookie!
So there you go we may have missed out on the apealing eyes rossette...we were robbed I tell you but the rosette for coming first in the "Dog judge would like to take home" class - MORE than made up for it. (in particular Cookie's face was a picture for any mum to be REALLY proud of!)
A really good day, a well run event and lots of little stalls to look at. we came home with a bag full of goodies and most of them were freebies.
Im so chuffed !!! Cookie was delighted as she hadnt expected to be picked to see her reaction on being given the rosette was just brilliant and dear little Melvin is very tired now!!

Well done Melvin and Cookie. It sounds as though you had a great day and even though the Judge would have liked to have taken Melvin home, I bet your glad she didn't.
Congratulations, Fun dog shows are brilliant, well I am a little biased as I run a few, glad you enjoyed it.
People take these events really seriously, and get VERY competitive I can tell you

This show was really nice - as it was small and the classes didnt drag - the first few were very small classes as people arrived late due to the weather but then some classes had up to 23 dogs in it and they split the judging into two to make sure people were not hanging around too much.
(they did this when the weather turned a bit dodgy)
They had three judges but mainly only one judge doing the actual judging (in rotation) they had all three judges for the best in show.
I can fully understand how important it is to people to win!! LOL
One of the ladies told me she has been trying for three years to get a best in show! I thought how sweet is that!
Thank you for all the nice comments!
Here is Cookie (my daughter) being chuffed to bits with her win. Well deserved!!
