Newspaper and towels for me, and then if the bitch wants it, vet bed after whelping, some of mine just prefer the newspaper.

I find my girls all wanting to dig and rip the newspaper in first stage labour, some like crazy, others just a bit.

Hmmm, seems there is an overall urge to mess around with the bedding in the first stage of labour...

Oh good Trace. I'm glad its not just mine that like a good old rip of the newspapers.

And as my newspaper collection this time has been sooooooooo successful I have loads of the stuff. Its going to be the first time ever that I have an excess Very Happy .

Must admit because mine are allowed access to the garden in first stage labour they tend to dig like mad out there and bury beneath hedges and so on, and tend not to cause great disruption in their whelping box. But they all vary of course.... Mallies mum Kia used to be a whelping box queen, stapled to it for hours on end andall her difgging done there. Yes I just let them go for it, then shove it roughly back down again where it was.

I made it back from the Suffolk Show Cool Only took 45 mins to find the car (a rental so all very confusing Laughing ) Managed to find bedding people which had several different types including the Ecobed. They also had some other stuff which felt, sounded and looked very interesting: Megazorb.

It's double dust extracted and it's natural fibre which has been dried and sterilised so no mould or spores. A bale of 85L is about Ģ7 delivered. I'm sure that it's possible to get the stuff many places but the outlet which were there are based not far from Bungay so not too far from me Cool
