Minnie is the Oldies Club's own longest stay dog She's a beautiful 10 year old Whippet x Staffie (she's actually been in foster care over a year now).
She is great with children, but sadly doesn't like other dogs so does need to be the only pet in the home.
She loves to play:
is good in the car, ok to be left for short periods (not destructive, just doesn't like being without company too long) and is an active older dog, who needs two walks a day.
Blue is a lovely natured gentle giant who has been in Oldies Club foster care for almost a year after his previous owners emigrated. He has previously been very good with other dogs, but unfortunately was diagnosed with arthritis which means he can be a bit grump with other dogs out and about, if he thinks they might hurt him
Therefore he is either looking to be the only dog in his forever home, or live with a suitably calm dog following successful introductions.
Blue can live with children aged 10+ who understand not to hurt his sensitive neck/back area. His fosterer says despite his arthritis, he's as lovely and affectionate as ever.
Blue is being fostered in Devon, but can be rehomed across the UK following a successful home visit and provided the potential adopter is happy to travel to meet Blue in his foster home. Rehoming contact details are on the above link

Hi
would love to get a second dog one day (... not allowed at mo!), and we'd def consider an oldie, how do u stand with insurance tho? those i've looked at either wont take an animal on if aged over 9, or will only insure for 50% of costs, does anyone know a good company to go for to insure an oldie?
When we adopted our first oldie (who our own vet put at 10 yrs old), I didn't think we'd be able to get insurance, but then found M&S would insure her (though they were underwritten by AXA at the time). She had an existing heart murmur, so heart problems were excluded and I never claimed on it, but I did pay for it.
When we took Jasper on, aged 12, PetPlan gave us a few weeks free insurance and I continued the policy. Again he had an existing heart murmur, plus arthritis, so knew these things would be excluded, but I feel glad we have it for other possibilities.
I can't remember what our excess is, nor what % we have to pay, so that's worth checking with each policy and I'm sure some people would choose to put some money by each month instead, but we've chosen to insure, so far. I'd always go for the third party insurance with any dog I think, anyway, but that can be purchased separately, very cheaply I believe.
Hope that helps. I remember when PetPlan wouldn't take on a new dog if they were past about 8/9 but this had definitely changed, which is good news if you want insurance.
Thanks for considering an oldie, can very much recommend it
I have just insured Maia who is coming up to 10yrs old with John Lewis, they have excluded her HD and CDRM, but everything else is covered.
All insurers ask you to pay a percentage of the cost once the animal is over 8/9yrs old it seems, but JL is the first 15% of any claim.
