I dont bother using a shampoo or giving them a bath. I just find a nice river for them to have a swim.
As long as you have plenty of tomato sauce and hibiscrub you should be fine. Wink

Ketchup definitely neutralises the smell of fox poo but then need to wash it out with washing up liquid or shampoo. Shampoo alone doesnt take the smell of fox poo away although the Dirty Beastie one I use does a pretty good job!

I think "Dirty Beastie" is the same make as the one I posted - so that's another vote for that range Very Happy
I find that the tea tree one removes enough of the smell to live with, I can't be bothered faffing around applying and washing off ketchup! Laughing

I use Paul Mitchell puppy shampoo on my dogs because it's not tested on animals and I know that generally Paul Mitchell products don't irritate my skin either (and I'm the one washing the dogs). It's not irritated the dogs' skin and it also smells really yummy!

I don't shower my dogs unnecessarily. Minnie has had maybe 3-4 showers in her life time - one as a puppy as part of her socialisation to all sorts, one after her season and one when she lay in some very clay-like-mud that just wasn't going to shift otherwise.

Generally mud is just dried off here and afterwards you'd not know they'd got muddy.

My collie tends to be the one who gets the most showers as he's the one to roll in fox poo. Yummy. I use tomato sauce first and then shampoo. I think he rather likes his showers - last time he jumped into the bath for me when I asked him Laughing

Both the labs tend to only get 'spot' shampooed after they've had a roll in fox or badger leavings otherwise, just a jolly good swim. The shampoo I use is Organimals. My BT does get shampooed a couple of times a year because he really doesn't do the swim thing. Oddly enough, he enjoys having a shower, contrary boy!
