The grand finalle for us this weekend was that in the team event this morning, which was open to all grades of dog, Oak, Grade 1 (ie most novice level) Labrador Retriever, age two years old, with little competition Agility experience (have I hammed it up enough yet?!!!) was the only dog in our team to go clear!!!!!! The youngest, and least experienced, and he went clear!!!!
Unbearably proud Mummy!!!!
The downfall of most was picking up the middle jump in a sequence of three side by side. The course was left jump, circle past middle jump to the back of right hand jump, then over middle jump and into weaves. Problem was you were a long way behind your dog as they got to the row of jumps as a fast line preceded it. Lucky for me, angel boy took my directions from afar!! (Have I mentioned what a star he is??!) In fact I used the gundog training command "out" and he went out to the left - What a good boy!!

Do the KC shows place dogs in height classes or combined heights.... ie was Oak placed 7th out of 100 Large Grade 1 dogs or 100 Grade 1 dogs of all heights? Do you see what I'm asking, I feel like I'm making it a hard question to understand!!!
They vary, some are combined and some are graded. Often you have grades 1 - 3 combined. Oak's successes yesterday were places in Grade 1, and a clear round in 1 to 2 combined. As you go higher up the grades, so the numbers of manically fast collies with super fit handlers increases!!
I bought a cd with lots of pictures on but am having troubles getting it to the right size for the forum, however if I suceed I'll post some pictures. see further down!!

WTG Oak!, sounds like he`s going to be a star for you Katy
Try downloading a program called Paint.Net to adjust the size of your pics, very much like PSP and Photoshop but free!, amke sure the place you get it doesn`t charge you for it, its freeware.
A good idea for them to be sold on CD! The smallest printed out is 8pounds at the shows we've been to I've decided one per show is fair but it's soooo hard to choose sometimes!
Fantastic well done both of you!! Those placings are brilliant
I just love agility, sooo addictive!
We are going to a show at Newbury Showground (Thames) in a few weeks and I am really excited already, despite the fact that Obi's contacts are out the window at the minute-gulp!
Have you anuy more shows planned? Have you been to KC international or Dogs In Need before? I went a couple of years ago and they were fab
