Sorry to blow Oak's trumpet, but I am just so chuffed I can't wipe the grin off my face! Very Happy Very Happy

We were at Tunbridge Wells Agility today, and Oak beat over 100 other dogs to take 7th Place in Grade 1 Agility, and 15th Place in Grade 1 Jumping - his first KC placings!!!! Very Happy He also got a clear in grade 1+2 Agility!! Ash got a clear in 1+2 Agility too - mega good boys!!

They were nice flowing courses, with a couple of handling issues - pull away from other jump type things. What really cracked it for Oak was how he is starting to pick up jumps / equipment when I am still puffing along behind him! I can send him on into the weaves when I am over a jump behind, and he is picking things up on the turns, so I don't have to be up there next to him. The more experience Oak gets in the ring, the more he gains in confidence, and I really couldn't fault him in any way today - a total STAR!!!! ( not that I am a biased Mum in any way, of course:lol: Laughing !)

Ash also ran nicely, just needed a helping hand with the weaves. Poor Fife, he ran a clear round in the "old boy's" class, Allsorts, where the jumps are really low. He can't hear very well in his old age, and so I had to wave and signal like crazy to get the turns. Bless his heart, he went exactly where I told him, loving it and so enjoying himself. I was chuffed to bits - then I discovered I had put him in the wrong end of the tunnel! Embarassed Elimination!! Poor Fife, I lost him his rosette. But he had a great time and loads of cheese at the finish, so he was happy too!

A lovely, lovely day, and fingers crossed that Oak goes as well tomorrow when he is running in the Gundog Agility team. Very Happy

Katy

Wow, very well done Katy and to Oak as well, sounds like you have had a lovely day and so pleaseed to hear Fife had a go in the Old Boys class, I`m sure he`s not upset that he didn`t get a rosette, the treats would have been much more acceptable Very Happy

That's ABSOLUTELY FAN-BLEMMIN'-TASTIC Katy!!!

So chuffed for you and all your boys!!

It's soooo hard for a labbie to get placed against those darned sheep herders sometimes!!

Do the KC shows place dogs in height classes or combined heights.... ie was Oak placed 7th out of 100 Large Grade 1 dogs or 100 Grade 1 dogs of all heights? Do you see what I'm asking, I feel like I'm making it a hard question to understand!!! Embarassed Confused

At the moment Luna can run on ahead when it is a run of jumps for home and will happily run on up contact equipment but if I'm not at the end of the contact equipment she'll jump the contact point Rolling Eyes It must be fab to be able to send him running into the weaves.... we really ought to practice that! I also need to practise sending Luna into either the right or left end of a u-shaped tunnel as tht majorly caught us out at our last comp.

Anyhow...... rambling!!!

WELL DONE to the boys who deserve a BIG chunk of CHEESE each!!!

Bless him - he wouldn't have known though - sounds like he tried his best and did a great job anyway.

You have tons of rosettes in you avatar, looks like you are busy with it. You must be knackered at the end of it though!

WOW!!!!! HUGE well done...fair puts us to shame now..!! Wink

After doing that today I now really understand how getting placed is a MASSIVE achievement and against so many dogs too. I'm glad that show was on today though as it made our one have very small classes indeed so we looked better !!

Just brilliant Katy, I bet you're thrilled!
