Colloidal Silver...
FOS
Pro-Kolin
Synulux

those are the main items, anything else is just bought as and when needed

Thanks everyone.. I guess most things can be bought as and when they are needed, but we certainly get through a lot of aloe vera and calendula in this house Smile And occasionally charcoal. I'm a worrier though, so I'd rather have these things in! Some things I've never heard of, so off to google

Sue, re: the hydrogen peroxide to induce vomiting, there have been a couple of times where that would have been preferable to getting to the vet and waiting for the injection to kick in... Melvin ate ibuprofen once (although we didn't know which one ate them until after). If I'd been able to make them puke immediately rather than approx 40 mins after the discovery, that could have made a difference. I should have added the caveat that whenever this is needed, a phone call/vet appointment is a must! Our current vet is 40 min drive away and the new emergency vet is even further, so there's no way I'd be without it now!! Very Happy

kayc- I noticed you mentioned colloidal silver in this thread. I am on the on the other side of the puddle where holistic things have been under the radar for a while. Most of the information I have read online about Colloidal Silver is dealing with humans not canines. I would appreciate any input you can give me that I can use to keep my Labs in tip top shape.

Hi

Is hydrogen peroxide still recommended to induce vomiting? We have had so many instances of Hope eating stuff she shouldn't I wondered if it is worth getting some in?
Of course I would always try to get her in at the vets first, and I do muzzle her on walks, but I can't keep the muzzle on 24/7 and we do not leave anything we 'think' she would chew. But even when she is in her crate she is a terror, the base of the crate has now been chewed up, and as relieved as I was, spat out! Maybe she is learning ?? I wish!!
thanks

Vodka and Cadbury Dairy Milk for when you are able to relax after the dogs have scared the life out of you, or caused a sleepless night while you watch them like a hawk for side effects (yes China, eating a load of Cassie's heart tablets).

We were at a show and a labby swallowed a "skineez" stuffless toy and was working on a second when caught. It was suggested by the show vet to give him Hydrogen Peroxide to induce vomiting to see if he would upchuck it. It took approximately 70 ml over a short period of time via syringe and voila, one very soggy stuffless fox. He was looking for his supper in no time!

Thanks SillyBlackDog for the info. I did have to try it recently, and luckily it worked too! I shall now be making sure I always have this in my cupboard.
