I used expensive foods for Tarka for a couple of years, and every week or so he had the trots. My friends recommended Chappie, my vet recommended Chappie, and in the end I thought I would give it a go.

We havent looked back since. He loves it and firm stools ever since. Very Happy

Marvellous stuff!

I just can't say enough good things about chappie Very Happy

When we got Frank, he had terrible problems with diahhorea that would subside for a week, then flare up terribly for 2-3 days. It was a never ending cycle. He also had bad skin, dandruff, incredible flatulance, and terrible anal gland problems. Even when he wasn't bad, his poo's were puddly and loose.

We tried CSJ, we tried JWB, we tried Arden Grange, and we tried Burns. Burns was the best result; after 2 weeks I was confident we'd cracked it but then the diahhorea was back.

In complete despair; I put him (and my other dog Rosie) on chappie. It was incredible. I didn't even wean him onto it; and the following morning, perfect, solid, poo.

Both Rosie and Frank were on chappie for a year. I came to the conclusion that it's the fat content in foods he couldn't handle - if you look at the oil content in the likes of Royal Canin or Arden Grange and compare it, you'll see what I mean.

Chappie is low fat; and I just believe that Frank has a sensitive tummy to rich food and hence needs a lower fat, less rich diet. The Chappie sorted his tummy, but the anal gland problem was more persistent and we had 3 occasions of Frank being sedated and having his glands "flushed and packed" due to inflammation and infections.

Eventually, I was brave enough to take Frank off the Chappie - because i found that Burns "Pork and Potato" and "Fish and Brown Rice" was lower fat. We were on Pork and Potato for 6 weeks with no problem, then the pet shop ran out and we were going on holiday last week so I bought Fish and Brown Rice. The poo's we've had have been the best yet!

Just for info; my dogs were fed 1/2 tin of chappie mixed with chappie biscuit and they did super-well on it for a year. It's only the anal gland problem really, thats made me change - but I can't say whether that's improved as a result of the burns or the fact that Frank spent a good year on a suitable diet, i.e chappie - and it was just co-incidence.
