Excellent thanx for that. I was hoping to get her crate in my car but it didnt fit so bought a mont blanc guard. Still not tested it yet but hope to tomorrow. Gonna start taking her on the school run (when we dont walk) as anytime we go anywhere i normally need to have the buggy for the twins in the boot so cant really take her in the car for walks.
Bought some traveleze tablets to see if that helps and bought her a big kong that i freeze water in so she always has water when shes in her bed so hopefully all these things will help

I don't know much about Traveleeze tablets.. but I would be careful using human meds on dogs. There are some that are ok, but I wouldn't use anything without checking with the vet first.

A trip in the car for the school run can be a positive experience for her too if you can allow time before or after for her to meet some people that would be great... this is normally high up on the labs "most fun things to do" list. You could do some runs where she does not get out to meet people too.

It would be good to try and work out why she is being sick.. so keep an eye on her behaviour and perhaps report back here and i'm sure someone out there will be able to make some suggestions.

Good luck for tm.. Hope it goes well.
Laura

I got the tablets at PAH. They are for dogs and cats. I used them for archie last time as he is sick in the car (hes a cat) and they helped. When daisy is in the car she just lies down and gets all sweaty (do dogs feel sweaty?) then is sick. Shes not excited or scared (that i can tell).

Hmmm if Daisy not already happy to travel it may not be like this. We also live Ayrshire (nr Kilmarnock) and regularly visit family in Aberdeen Bridge of Don, we often stay in Deeside Caravan Park. Usually takes about 4 hours max in campervan (ie not hurrying).

Favourite stops for pets and kids northwards - Dobbies Cumbernauld (but tricky with the roadworks); Stirling A9 Services; Baxters at Blackford nr Auchterarder; past Perth, Glendoick Garden Centre; then Forfar Garden Centre off main rd to right if stuck. All have toilets and cafe for kids as well as good car park area for dog to pee/poo. You won't be stuck, just take it as it comes. Your main problem will be to settle the dog and if everyone else is OK you're laughing. What a caravan Shocked

We did the journey with a pregnant Mum threatening to deliver ANY MINUTE after 3 visits to Ayrshire Central with bleeding and contractions which then settled. Got to Aberdeen, baby born a week later.

You'll be fine. Very Happy

ps Where you heading? Sorry to lose you - was going to suggest GT!

We are moving to fraserburgh to be closer to family. Thank you so much for the stop ideas. Only 1 i could think of was stirling and arbroath (stopping to visit family and give my oldest a rest and feed the twins).
Daisy doesnt seem to get stressed just gets sick. Although that may change when shes in the back cos i normally have her in the front passenger seat next to me.

well today i took daisy on the school run. First time she had been in the boot with the guard on. She was happy to get in and had a bit of a sniff about then just lay down. We were in the car for about 10 mins and she wasnt sick. I left her in the boot till i got the twins in the house and came out with her breakfast and waited for her to eat that. Shes now happily curled up in her bed. So i would say tody has been a success. Gonna do it again at pick up but maybe drive the longer way (would be about 15 mins then) or do you think i should do the 10 mins for a day or 2?
