Just taken out insurance with John Lewis, £23pm for life cover, £10000 vets fees and no excess! I chose these two, could have got it cheaper with less fees and an excess but thought what the hell!

Got a quote from pet plan, and they wanted £40 odd quid pm for £7000 vet fees and I didnt even look at the excess.

Well pleased Very Happy

Good to hear. I went for John Lewis after a LOT of research. Sable was with Pet Protect (for 14 1/2 years) which was always very good and fair to deal with but seemed expensive compared to JL.

That sounds very good Pat - I am stuck with a rubbish Tesco policy because I didn't really know what to look for. I have claimed a few times and they are not rubbish at paying out but its limit is £4k per condition.

Gosh that's a fantastic premium especially with no excess and if it's underwritten by Axa there shouldn't be any problems.

Ruby's policy is up for renewal so will take a look at that as her Direct Line policy is quoting £27 pm with an £80 excess

My quote has come in at £23.81 with £7000 cover and no excess or £24.99 for £10000 cover

Wonder what happens at renewal time if you have had a few minor vets bills.

My vet advised me to make sure that I get lifetime cover for a condition because of hips - is £7000 enough to cover hips? No idea what they would cost if Ruby is unfortunate enough to have any problems

Sounds great Pat, I am paying £27 with pet plan for 12,000 and £90 excess for zanna, been with them 3 months an they have payed out over 4000 in vets bill without a single quibble, dread to think what next years premiums will be, but it has been well worth choosing them so far Smile
