Looking forward to seeing you and Rachael at Crufts. Haven't got any more shows before then but good luck if you have entered any of your gang in any before Crufts xx
Yes the judge will have a little 'feel up' for sure as its part of the examination in all show classes, and yes, although the GK ring is about working dogs, its proceedure is conducted as a bona fide show class. So the judge will feel for two testicles on the males... I know this is often the bit a lot of boys not used to showing HATE. But a good judge is quick as a fish and if the dog slightly jumps away no harm done, the GK judges should KNOW 95% of the dogs in the ring are not regular show dogs.
Look forward to seeing you there.

You too Jane...
Jake (Wylanbriar As Time Goes By At Millerdan) will be in the Gamekeeper's Ring in the Working Labrador Dog class and in Special Working Dog class in the breed ring (he was 3rd in this class last year).
Although qualified, Millie will be staying home to look after her lovely puppies

Thanks for that, Di - The ringcraft which I've been attending has been really good with many, many experienced people so they've sort of 'taken us under their wings' There are normally a couple of different people there - women and men either judges or some which are just about to have their first judging appointment - to go over the dogs and some he's ok with (could be the ones with warm hands ) where as others he is very close to put his bum down on. Overall, we do a good free stand and nice triangle with him moving freely so at least we come prepared and shall enjoy the day

"Handle every stressful situation like a dog. If you can´t eat it or hump it. **** on it and walk away..."
Any GK judge worth their salts won't penalise you in any way for him moving away or sitting when his two veg are checked ;-)Ideally he doesn't, but this isn't the breed ring where they should more or less be old hands at it.
See you there!

Although times are given for some of the Gamekeeper classes, they are rarely stuck to, and no times other than a ring start time is given for the breed ring, so its always a bit of a guessing game.... Very roughly, most classes take about an hour each in the breed ring.
When you get your catalogue on arrival you will see the order of the classes and who is in what.

Will you all be around mid morning ish? I have a breifing until about 10.30am but I could pop over for a bit after that, and then disappear off when I need to start work proper.
Would love to see you all there - sadly I will be there sans pooch
