She's adorable, can't help but love a sleeping puppy
I like the bed in a box too.
Being a bit dim here - what's lectade and why do you give that?
How come there were so many on the 'van' yesterday and they didn't go straight to their homes after the breakdown did they go to a GDBA HQ instead? Is it a very big van? Just interested, sorry!
Can't wait to see some more photos.
I dont want to hijack the thread, but I do have pictures of one of the puppy vans. The ones below were taken at the Guide Dogs Fun day last year.
Generally the reason why we give them lectade (rehydration solution) on arrival is that they would have been collected from Tollgate in Warwickshire in the morning and then spent most of the day travelling up the motorway, stopping on the way for each section to get their pups. Generally the Puppy Walking Supervisors collect them from the van and then deliver them to the Puppy Walkers with all their paperwork etc. It means that these little pups might be a bit dehydrated by the time they get home. I think they have also done studies and found that it reduces the chance of upset stomachs on arrival.
The way that the puppy collection delivery works is that there are two collection and drop off days now because of the volume of pups being born. The first one is that the pups are collected from the homes they are born in on the Friday (this is new), they are taken to TollGate Breeding Centre in Warwickshire where they are chipped, vaccinated, checked over, wormed (again) and its obviously the first time they are away from their mum so they are all monitored over the weekend, and go out to their puppy walkers on a Tuesday.
The original system is also still in place, where the pups are collected from the homes they are born in on a Monday, taken to Tollgate, chipped and vacc'd wormed etc on the Tuesday and then on the puppy van on the Wednesday. This however means that the pups have a hell of a lot to deal with over a couple of days.

BTW thanks Janice for your response re the travelling arrangements, I didn't have the photos and background to explain. However, breakdowns can happen to anyone (having broken down on M74 a year ago with 2 small children on board en route Ayrshire-Hull Thank you RAC ) What matters is what people then do, and the Puppy-Walking Supervisor came up trumps making sure the pups' journey was broken overnight. YAY! She was embarrassed but delighted to have a wee thank you from the pups (and me )
Anyway, to the photos: I AM being restrained here...
Awake? and how!! Loves having her tummy ticked, so grateful to the Brood Bitch Holder for handling her so well.
New toys - AHAH! (nothing in it as yet )
Meeting the Opposition for the Charm Defensive...
will try to restrain the uploading
And oh yes, for those interested, she went from 11.30pm last toilet then howled at the moon and gave up. Then woke at 4.30, took her out for 2 stage poo then back to bed, grumbled but went back to sleep until my alarm woke me at 7.30! So I then woke her and fed her, she's a hungry girl so upping the amount of Royal Canin a bit.
We're working hard at catching her before she pees/poos, few accidents so far but hey, 24 hours in???
Awwwwwwww shes is just scrummy. What a pretty girl, definately where the expression puppy eyes comes from. I love how the Kong wobbler is only just smaller than she is lol.
I always find the second night the worst, the first night they are absolutely exhausted. By the next day the 'omg where am I sets in', and then they get more used to things.
So how much does she weigh now? Sounds like she is on the RC study.
Awww she`s so cute, looks to have settled in well too, love the pic of she and the little girl eyeing each other up
Great to hear how they are transported too, although having seen the pic of the van with the toy on top, I`m finding it hard to get an image out of my mind of, all the pup riding with their heads out of the sunroof and ears blwing in the breeze
