Yes but he didn't have a pole down with you did he! And I think he was just so pleased to be running with his Mum! I think you looked like you were doing great!

Mel it's a shame you can't come to our agility as Poppy would love her partner in crime to join her! Bit far for you though Wink

Blimey he's going great guns!!! What a fantastic boy - can I have a go with him?!? Will you train outdoors in the summer? He'll really fly on grass as he'll have more traction and a softer landing after jumping!

Luna was watching and says he's trying to tell you what you need to do differently! She's begun telling me by barking at me too!!

Luna's recent top 3 tips for me have been:
1) why should she do all the running?! I have to sprint right next to the jump wings and right up to the mouth of the tunnel otherwise she thinks I'm being lazy so takes a break herself!!!
2) She says I should point my body in the direction she needs to go and to keep my arm out to show which jump to jump because if I let it drop she sometimes doesn't know whether to jump or not.
3) She also says that if I give her the next command ie tunnel, as soon as she's started doing the previous jump/obstacle then she can run faster!!!!!

She also insists I practise the course in my head and walk the course again and again and again because if I forget where to go or look like I've forgotten then I slow her down!

One warning for all those wanting to begin agility - it is like labs ADDICTIVE!!!

On a serious note - look after those labbie joints and make sure you're not encouraged to jump your lab higher than it is comfortable jumping! Fun is more important than jump height!

We started with puppy agility. It is so much fun!

Laura we train outside in the summer on grass and the jumps are higher. They do run a class in an indoor school in the winter but it is at 8pm and further away. It is quite good though because in the winter we train in the barn over the low jumps but can practice turns, weaves etc so when we go outside it seems easier somehow!

That was a fab vid, I think that you were great. The proper trainer was FAR too fast for me. Made me tired just to look at him.

Have fun together thats the main thing.
