Jazz left this morning for her final assessment at the Breeding Centre before hopefully becoming a Brood Bitch for GDBA.
We had lots of lovely cuddles last night and when the car came to pick her up she jumped in beside her friend Zuki (also a potential BB) and started wrestling. Backward glance at Mum? Not a bit Makes it much easier for us - I know she's going to have a great life and I'm proud I've played my part so far.
Awww - that must break your heart! But what wonderful, wonderful work she will do now and you are amassive part in all of that! Must be very fulfilling xxx
It must be such mixed emotions for you, but you should be so very proud of the part you have played in Jazz's life so far. I hope she goes on to fulfill her potential, and make you very proud. Although I am sure you are already.
Hope Megan is ok without her pal. Big hugs to you both.

Megan is off with her Dad to Culzean Country Park where he's a volunteer Ranger once a week - her favourite place of all
She's going to get one BIG shock when she comes home to find Jazz has turned into a LabXGoldie puppy called Krissie

Will you get regular updates on her progress?
We will hear in about 10 days whether she's passed her final character assessment. Meanwhile she will just be having a great time playing with her pals in kennels. And assuming she passes and is placed with a Brood Bitch Holder I expect to have regular updates and will be offered one of her first litter to walk in due course
I heard yesterday from Mitch's new owner (that's our pup before Jazz), it's great that they want to keep in touch too - the family's getting bigger.. and bigger....
The very best of luck to Jazz, I must admit, the jumping into the car bit is the part I completely crumple at. I send you all the hugs possible.
I think being chosen as a BB or a SD is one of the highest accolades really, she is going to be responsible for bringing lots more guide dogs into the world.
You must be so very brave and have such a very BIG heart. It is an amazing thing that you do.
Many years ago we re-homed a GDBA puppy who failed his finals, (it must be nearly 20 years ago), he was the kindest gentlest boy and he made our family complete. He was a pleasure to live with, polite, well mannered and a true gent, and that of course was hugely down to his puppy walker...
Fingers crossed for Jazz and her finals and a huge hug for you.
So, did they pick one up and drop one off, poor Megan hope she doesn't mind puppies...
