Posted: Fri Feb 11, 2011 4:04 pm Post subject: Laura's nearly here, can anyone help me source some toys pls
Laura will be arriving in just over a week and a half time and like most puppy walkers have a bag for going out with the pup.
When I had Usher and Osborn I had a small blanket plus a couple of toys in my bag, for those moments when you go into Costa coffee etc and need them to sit quietly under the table for a short time. Both Osborn and Usher became so steady around people like that as I took them to places like that from a very young age. I rapidly discovered that stuffed kongs roll under next doors table squeaky toys were a no-no and rawhide chews ended up either soggy on the floor or in my bag. Things like teddies tend to be ragged. I like nylabones but they are a bit boring. So I thought I would ask for advice from you lot
I wondered if anyone could suggest some 'special just for those quiet moments out and about' type toys please.
They must be able to fit into a reasonable sized handbag
They mustnt squeak or roll
Cant be a ball (GD rules)
Can be chewed but not make a mess.
Teddies and other soft cuddlies tend to be ragged (not good in a coffee shop).
Thank you

I have bone shaped rubber kong type toys with holes at either end for stuffing and it's flattish, so doesn't roll away. I got it from Pets at Home.
I also use stuffed sterilised bones, but these can roll.
Hope this helps
Thank you everyone for your suggestions, Im going to check out the links you sent me.
I love all the petstages things too DotandMegan, thats a really good price for that ball.
Good luck to Jazz, but Krissie will help. Usher went at the beginning of November, it seems like forever ago Who are Krissies parents, when was she born?

Aww well Laura must have been from the very next litter then, she was born the 2nd Jan. She is mum Trudy BL and dad Greg GRet (his first litter). She is going to find it probably rather noiser here as she is one of six, however her BBH is an elderly lady on her own, whereas I have two children and two dogs of my own!
Aww look forward to seeing pics of Laura and Krissie.
Nylabone large puppy keys are my favourite puppy toy. The red/blue/yellow ones.
Are kong wubba's allowed? I know they are a bit big but the snugga one and the wet one don't roll away and don't squeek but can be chewed on (the tails) or tugged etc.
Some of the tuffy toys are quite small but depends how good a chewer they are, Sam's keep him quiet, he loves them, but some have stood the test of time better than others and not always the ones with the highest toughness ratings for some reason...
Zogoflex toys are quite small chewable but don't seem to get destroyed - there is a bone shaped one - but my pup didn't take to it.
