There isn't a day goes by that I don't think about 'Banana' and a thread today prompted me to dig out an old thread and look back on the wonderful memories of her, the photos are all we have left.
So I thought it would be really nice to share them.
Tara is the one in the middle, this is when she was 8 weeks old with her siblings, 2 of which have also died sadly
She was so tiny and vulnerable here and her pot belly was a warning of what was to come
a few months before we lost her, she was blossoming into the most amazing creature, so beautiful and elegant
We are truly blessed to have had her in our lives, she touched so many hearts, and she has left a massive hole.
Always smiling through the pain

This is a picture of Uncle Dave. He was the head gamekeeper of our local shoot and totally adored Rastus, our first lab. . He followed every Middleton hunt. This was a picture of him with one of her pups 20 years ago and my daughter who is now 23 years old.. sadly he was killed in a car accident seven years ago.
Beautiful pics Nat and beautiful Tara, i feel lucky to have met her at rendlesham, she was so lucky to have found you. edited to add - virtual ((hugs))
I know i'll get there but i've not been brave enough to put together the montage i want to, just about sorted the pics into one folder. But i'd love to share this pic of my girl.
Beautiful memories that sustain us through our lives x

the last pic was taken the day before she was pts, she was only in my life a short period of time but i don`t think the pain of losing her will ever get any easier. that pic is how i`ll always remember her, happily splashing around in the sea without a care
This thread is appropriate timing for me because 5 years ago today, almost to the minute, I was taking this photograph....
I was helping a rescue with transporting at that time and Toby the collie was due to move from kennels in Cardiff to a foster home in Nottingham. Just as he was being handed over to the second leg of his journey, I got a call from the last transporter to say the foster home had pulled out and I had to call poor Cindy (then with the Oldies Club) to tell her. She managed to arrange a new foster home, but I had to go out and hold Toby for an hour until a slightly later transport run caught up.
He got out of the car and I swear to God I actually swooned. I really really don't "do" collies but this giant hunk melted my heart and I renamed him Bear. Me, Jacob and our lurcher boy spent an hour with him and I knew that I was hopelessly in love. I let him go to his foster home but cried all the way home.
2 days later, Cindy collected him from the foster home and I met her on the M4 to bring him home
My big old Bear only got to spend 2 years with us and he was my right hand "man". He was such a size that if I was stood up and put my hand out, it would rest comfortably on his handsome head. He was so steady and wise and just fabulous and I miss him every day. He's been gone for nearly 3 years now but he still chases flocks of seagulls above our garden at opportune moments to remind us that he's still around
I miss you so much, big lad
