.....which starts the end of february so does anyone have any top tips to help us on our way?? Am quite excited about it but a bit clueless. I think Rufus will love it if I can use his excitement to help him train. If he enjoys this 4 week puppy course then when hes old enough we'll do 'proper grown up agility!' All help and tips gratefully recieved
Thanks

I'm looking at starting Baxter on an agility course as something we can do together and without Hattie (she and I will have puppy classes together as a start). I've found a couple of places which do courses but need to check on age as Bax is only 9 months old and from a lot of what I've read they have to be 12 months.
Thanks to Sarah for suggesting it for Bax on yesterday's walk
I hope you and Rufus have a great time together and that it goes well
It's at Billericay dog school, we do our training there. This a course specifically for dogs under 12 months so very basic, low impact. They do agility courses too (as well as other things) but you can't do it with dogs under 12 months (14 months for larger breeds like labs) I think. Hoping I've managed to add a link to there site (hope that's allowed, sorry if it's not)
Ooooooo brilliant!! Get someone to video you both!
Tip: Take a toy he loves with you and loads of small bits of really yummy smelly treats!
Make sure you have a 'normal' flat style collar and a 'normal' lead with you/on him
(rather than a harness/halti/long/extendable lead)
And take poo bags as excitement and agility fun often leads to what I term 'agility poop' !!
Luna and I have been agility-ists for almost 18months now and it's addictive and gets more and more fun!!!!
I've done agility with 3 of mine. Bluebie did it as a pup as part of a puupy socialization agility familiarization thing in my old doggy club. It is such such fun. It does get addictive. A course geared up for young dog will help enormously with obstacle familiarization. It all helps. Just watch out for the tunnel. All of mine became tunnel addicts!!! Enjoy!!!
Thanks for the tips Laura, especially the extra poop Really excited about starting agility and hoping he'll love it. Both my DDs want to watch so will get one of them to film us. If it's not too I might share it
Thanks Nicola, think i might be a bit of an addict too. We love training together and this seems so much more fun than obedience (which we will still do too )
Thanks to Sarah for suggesting it for Bax on yesterday's walk
Sue, the class I go to (or used to, haven't been in ages) is in chelmsford and has some puppy equipment - not sure what age he takes them from though.
The guy who does it is really nice and you can just drop in to classes (£5 a time) you don't have to sign up for a 6 week block. He oes tues, wed, sat am and I think a few evening classes that might be more writtle way rather than chelmsford.
It might be one of the places you've already found though - essexflyers?
