Do you buy Vetbed and how long does it last?

I do wash Sam's regularly which may be why it doesn't seem to last very long!

ATM we've got a white Vetbed Gold - well supposedly, I got it at P@H but the backing is rubbish on it yellow fabricy stuff - the one we had before was navy and that had a rubber green texture back so didn't slip in the crate, I can't remember what type of VB that was though Rolling Eyes

So do you have the 'real thing' Vet bed or an imitation, which type do you have and do you recommend that and how long does it last for you?

Thanks,
Smile

We have "real" VetBed and it's just the bog standard stuff in grey or white. The backing on the grey stuff is green and the backing on the white stuff is, I think without checking, is white Shocked

We've had it for maybe 6/7 years now and it's still perfect. Well. Except for one piece which had holes chewed in it by a norty labrador pup Evil or Very Mad but that piece has now been cut into smaller pieces for tinier pups Very Happy

It is brilliant stuff - washes and dries SO quickly Very Happy

Give it a quick brush/shake and shove it in the washing machine, thats what I do with CJ`s Very Happy

CJ`s is the real stuff, he`s had it for about 5/6 years now, its beginning to show its age, I got more from Crufts a couple of years ago but cut it for Cindy`s crate too, could do with more but sadly won`t be going this year Smile

I have vetbed from when Basil was a pup still (almost 5 years) Confused rubber and fabric backed.

What happens to yours that means it's not lasting?

I'm astonished the real stuff lasts so long Shocked Shocked We buy it from the pet shop locally; it's on a roll and they cut it off in metre lengths and its £18 a metre. I've gone through about four lots in 2 years!

We've got Vetbed Gold - it discoloured on the very first wash (and now looks permanently dirty grey (well - that's my excuse!!)) but it's lasting well in terms of not falling apart even when Moss plays "hide the tennis ball" which can get a bit energetic with the vetbed being pulled all around the house!
Indy came to fetch me the other day, a proper "what is it, Lassie?" moment, because the vetbed in his zippy bed has become all bunched up and he couldn't get comfy....... soft? me? Wink Wink

We have both. We started with real stuff and now we have the fake stuff. I think the real stuff probably lasted longer, but I'm quite happy with the fake! I got it from ebay.

i have just ordered some more from e bay from a fab seller. I get the non slip stuff and the only reason i wanted some more was the rubber backing was breaking up - had it for 3 years or more. Plus my spare piece got fox poop on it and the smell wouldn't shift!
