gloves.... I think I'd rather my hands were frozen now after my boy ate one and ended up in surgery.... Sad

The ASPCA site is really good for checking plants and medicines and other household type products if you want to check those you have or want to buy here's a link http://www.aspca.org/pet-care/poison-control/

Just for those of you with children, Playdough can also be lethal! It is very appetising to dogs because of the sweet smell.

And regarding the sweetcorn cobs-my lab stole one out of a bin bag and periodically over the following weeks was sick and then fine again. FIVE weeks later (!) the vomitting became worse so the vet xrayed her and sure enough it was the sweetcorn cob stuck in her stomach. Thankfully, it had not made its way through to the intestine or she may well have got peritonitis. They had to operate to remove it. Sweetcorn cobs will not digest no matter how long they are in the gut-the reason she was periodically being sick was it was rolling around in her stomach and every time it tried to leave the intestine it would block the way out and that is when she was sick.

If I had not seen her eat the sweetcorn I may never have suspected the blockage and it could have had an altogether different outcome.
