The raw food I feed is called Duck its imported from Belgium, I comes in 100g slices, I feed him 200g n a morning and 100g with some green beans at tea. The feeding guidlines say he should be fed 700g a day.

Firstly, I'd say, make sure no one else is slipping him extra treats, left overs, etc. I know someone who was mystified as to why her dog was piling on the pounds and then discovered her neighbour was tipping all her leftovers, over the fence into her garden for the dog.

If he really isn't getting any extras, then as he is eating well under half the recommended amount, plus he isn't losing any weight despite your best efforts, I'd ask the Vet to check his Thyroid levels.

A friend struggled with her Spinone's weight for years. She was very strict about his rations, no treats etc, yet still he was a lump. It was only when the Vet took bloods, they found out his Thyroid Gland was barely functioning. Since he's been on Thyroxine tablets, he's like a New Dog. He's lost so much weight, now they have to feed him more than double what he used to have, just to keep weight ON.

Well I've never heard that one before Shocked . I thought you could have Thyroid problems at any age, as it depends what's causing them.
