Name: Rolo
Age: 8 months
Breed: Choccie Lab
Can I live with Children: yes
Can I live with cats: yes
Can I live with other dogs: yes
Fostered In: South Wales
Other Information:
Rolo has been handed in because her owner has sadly died. She is a beautiful typically bouncy, loving friendly girl. The owners niece had taken her in but her and her partner both work and so they felt they couldn't give Rolo what she needs, in the way of excerise and training.
This is what they say about Rolo:
Rolo is a very excitable dog around new people but does settle down after a short while. She loves human company and doesn't like being left alone for long. She is friendly with other dogs but can be overly playful. She is lovely with children and cats. She is an extremely loving dog and knows basic commands such as 'sit', 'paw' and 'beg'. She will also roll over for you to tickle her tummy.
Her house training is 99% there although she does need reminding from time to time. Rolo loves going for long walks and loves the water to play in. She loves to show off doing many tricks for titbits of food.
Rolo has been spayed, microchipped and vaccinated. Her birthday is on 9/5/10.

Hi,
Rolo is re-available and in need of a lovely home with people who will dote on her as much as she will them. The initial post here says that she canlive with children and while she is absolutely lovely with everyone it, she is not suitable to live with children under teenage because she is easily excited and very bouncy and would be too much for them and they too much for her. She has been homed with children before and her behaviour was completely mis-understood (she's typical over exctied young lab and nothing more) She really is the sweetest nature and loves absolutely everyone, that said she wll alert bark when she hears noises/people outside, then lick them to death when they come in
Rolo like lots of gun dogs can be a bit oral and likes to have something in her mouth, she did have a bit of a mouthing problem when arrived in that she would very gently mouth arms and so on (and when I say gently I mean you can barely feel it) fab gun dog type mouth. However given simple redirection of a toy to carry at times of excitment and her knowing what she 'is' suposed to do rather than hat she 'isn't' supposed to do it is not happening here. However it is a default behaviour for her and she will do it when over excited or stressed so it may well re-appear when she moves again but as long as people follow advice it is not a problem at all, it is normal young gun dog behaviour that just needs direction.
This girl just needs someone to understand that moves for animals are difficult and it can take even he lovliest of aniamls a while to settle into a new routine.
She has had quite a bit of change in her young life and needs calm stability. Someone who is going to be kind and patient with her while she settles. She has been on foster with me for 8 weeks now and has settled so much but I know with moving on to someone else she will again need time to settle as this will be another change for her. She can be built up to being left for about tree hours without a problem but she is happiest with company and needs a home with somoene around a good bit of the time.
She was quite over weight when she came to me but you can see from the pics that she is loooking nice and trim (she's lost a bit more since then) and this has helped build up some muscle tone and she has just started doing a bit of agility which she loves (very beginner).
She loves play with other dogs, rough and tumble is her favourite, she also loves playing ball. Se is a very responsive girl and loves learning and is very easy to train. She is toilet trained, non destructive (though like said she does lnow with guidance like to greet with something in her mouth and if nothing is to hand then this could be he food bowl or she has even been found trying to pick up her bd o greet me with, very cute!) All in all a lovely dog who I am desperate to find the right home for as sh realy is the loveliest dog and really isn't a complicated girl, just needs someone to love forever! Please ask if any qusetions
Karen
