Unusually it turns out that one of my Facebook Guide Dog Brood Bitch Holder friends has assisted at the whelping of my new guide dog puppy!

So I have been lucky enough to have been sent a photograph of her at one week old (normally we dont actually get to see them at all until they arrive). She is from the 'L' litter so all the pups have names starting with L.

Her Dad is Stud Dog Greg (his first litter) who is a golden retriever and mum is Brood Bitch Trudy who is a black labrador. This is the most common cross that Guide Dogs use and all parents are health and also temperament tested. We dont get to know any pedigree details as all the dogs are owned by Guide Dogs. There are 6 in the litter.

So please welcome Laura (middle darker yellow), who was born on the 2nd January 2011 and will be coming to me on the 22nd February and spending the next year with us.
