I offered my help on here to foster a pup to help out if I could and thanks to Natalie I had a phone call tonight from Lizzies Barn.
I know they arent labs but I have got whippety/lurchery experience, so one of these little darlings (not sure which, but it will be a girl) will be joining us asap until she finds her forever home
Whilst she is with me she will be subject to ear washing from Alfie and bumtuck games with Maple plus rather a lot of kisses and snuggles from my family.
Will post pictures as soon as I can.
Thank you for passing on my details Natalie, Im really pleased I could help.
Now where did I put the little orange collar that Maple has grown out of

Thank you Janice, I am glad you are getting your foster pup, when Sarah mentioned them I immediately thought of you, so when is she arriving?

AWWW how cute are they, wish i was closer i would have one of them. Meet with the greyhound/whippet rescue at pets at home and i am in love> they are gorgeous dogs and i'm hoping that by next summer(once Alfie is fixed) we may be able to offer a comfy home to one. ( it is hubby's working hours and my uni hours dependant).
You are a star, Janice I'm sure puppy will be very happy with you
It looks as if another 1 has a definite foster home and 2 more potentials
Just 2 more boys going spare.....
I just want to say that this is a bit of a learning curve for us as well because, as a rule, we don't use foster homes for our dogs as they get most of the experiences of being in a home at the sanctuary: they aren't kennelled and have indoor and outdoor access all day, spend most days playing with their mates, and can crash on sofas and chairs or in open crates with bedding in. Some dogs go to very local families, but usually they don't go further afield (unless it's all the way to me in Bristol ).
Fionna usually has the time to spend with puppies and has the opportunity to take them out individually to get new experiences, but with the hand rear litter taking up the bulk of our time, she just can't spend as much time on this litter as she'd like, which is where the foster homes will be perfect in this instance
So we'll be learning from our foster homes as well as the puppies!

I think she will be coming to me as soon as a transport run can be arranged. I may have also just asked for a lead to be embroidered with 'I need a home' all the way up it too and we have an extra christmas stocking
Seeing as Maple and Alfie have just spent the last couple of hours lounging in Maples crate on top of all the vet bed that they have made into a nest, Im sure which ever one comes here will be able to snuggle in too when she is ready.
Plus we have got the contents of the toybox strewn across the lounge, looks like a dog playgroup here lol.
awww thats great news i wish i could take on one over christmas but im in a rented house with more dogs than im technically allowed as it is lol - maybe next year
So we'll be learning from our foster homes as well as the puppies! Laughing
No pressure then
