Blue always lets me know if he needs to go out by knocking a little bell that's hung round the back door handle, but that's no good for when he wants to come back in again because I'd never hear it.
I'm happy enough to go out with him but he wanders around (cat poo hunting!), and often disappears round the back of the shed where he's stockpiled all sorts of toys and rubbish, so I'm left standing there freezing to death.
During this cold weather I've been coming back in and either leave the door open so the house gets freezing cold, or keep checking if he's there waiting.
I did a search on the internet and came across The Dog's Doorbell so bought one (£17.50 inc p&p). It has a pad which goes outside on the floor that the dog has to tap (you could probably attach it to the wall too), this then sets off the doorbell which is plugged in.
It arrived yesterday and after a few tries Blue had it sussed. It's absolutely blummin fantastic
