I was debating this before I lost my darling boy but of course there is another boy left....

As you know Bramble had his leg broken and is still suffering and there is a lot of osteo-arthritis so it is very sore. I had noticed that Neo was also using the large green dog bed as being comfier than the vet bed, the plastic bed (even with cushion) and the self-warming bed that I ahve around the place - so I had/have decided to get some extra beds...

I was looking at the memory foam ones that zooplus have and wondered if anyone has one - are they good for dogs with sore joints and do they stay good for them????

Or am I as well getting another of the much loved green bed - they would hang around and watch each other so as one got off the other would get on.... even though I thought the self warming blanket would be the most popular option.....

Any thoughts?

Eve and the honorary lab, Bramble

Well I've got a memory foam bed for me and as you know I have well dodgy joints. Coco LOVES it! In fact Mr M calls it "Cocos bed" not our bed!!

You mean Bramble uses his own bed and not yours/sofa!! Laughing Laughing Laughing

Sorry can offer no constructive advice as Luna persists in ignoring 'her' beds! She will favour old folded duvets over other options when she can.

I used to use old duvets for CJ`s crate, til he started to destuff them, he`s back on vetbed now Laughing

TBH I can`t honestly see how a memory foam bed could make a difference to Bramble`s leg as it supports the whole body but it would depend which way round he was lying, on the bad leg or not if that makes sense.

Personally if Bramble is happy with the green bed and Neo also liked it I`d be inclined to get another the same, you can bet though that if you get another dog in the future, they will both still want the same one Very Happy

I have a memory mattress and was so pleased with it that I bought the boys memory foam beds too. They seem to like them, so hopefully they find them as comfy as I do mine. Very Happy

Hi, have a look at Tuffies dog beds. Murphy has bad elbow dysplasia and secondary arthritis and he seems to find them really comfortable. They are like a futon style mattress so don't go flat or lumpy and they give really good even support as a result. They are also super easy to clean, you can just wipe them clean. I've got the fleecy cover too to make it more cosy and to also give more grip when he's getting on and off.

I'm thinking of getting another larger one for the kitchen as they both seem to like them so much.

One of the best nights sleep i can remember having was on a memory foam mattress, so i can vouch for how comfy they are, then again an old duvet would be lovely and snuggly too, if you have an old duvet i would probably start with that and see how he likes it, knowing his love of throwing his beds around the place it may not last that long Wink Wink

Well personally I think the gorgeous Bramble should have his own super king size bed with goose down duvet and pillows Cool

My dogs have zippy beds and I bought some memory foam for a single bed and cut it up and put it in the base of the zippy beds. They do seem very comfortable.

Lora had a Tuffie base in a Perla bed and all the dogs loved that bed. Tuffie now make a nest type bed which I really like the look of as they look much robust than the Zippy beds. Ben has wrecked both Zippy Beds as he lies on the sides and they are really squashed now Rolling Eyes

Personally I like beds that are easy to clean and that's why I like Zippy and Tuffies.

Eileen
