It's The Crown Stirrup just south of Lyndhurst town centre. They do lovely meals there and a nice drop of ale , plus they make the dogs very welcome with a bowl of fresh water and a few dog biscuits too....Most agreeable all round.
It's not just one lodge though, Sandy Balls is a holiday centre. It does get very busy there in the school holidays, as it's a fantastic place for the kids, but out of season it's much quieter and lovely.
aww we like Sandy Balls (mostly for the name alone ) might try and book in before Christmas, we stay in the caravan usually but would consider a lodge. Are there baths in the lodges or is it just showers, this may seem unimportant but when you're renovating a house and haven't had a ong soak in a tub since May its a major factor.
Mind you I would have to tie Lola up ouside she'd be over the gate in 2 seconds
Hi, love the pics! We live in Bournemouth and were at Hengistbury Head beach Saturday morning, then Sunday lunchtime we were in the forest at Linford Bottom near Ringwood.
I feel we are lucky to have so many great walking spots near by, the forest is absolutely beautiful in autumn. The Stour Valley Nature Reserve at Muscliff, Bournemouth is another nice walking spot as long as the river isn't flooded, really pretty and lots of wildlife to look out for!

There are baths and showers . Although the baths aren't the biggest in the world, I'm sure you could still have a nice soak.

You are VERY lucky indeed...Such a beautiful part of the world, yet not too far from "Civilisation" either . We'd move there in an instant, if we could.
