I dont beleive in any of these diet related foods. If any of my dogs get over weight all i do is cut the normal daily food rations.

Hi In our practice we use the following formula: Based on her weight of 39 kg go for an initial target weight of 85% of this (33kg). Her daily calorie requirement to achieve this weight loss is 760 Calories per day (Calculation target weight to power three quarters x 55 ie 33 x 33 x 33 then sq root - sq root x 55). Arden Grange light contains 327 calories per 100g hence daily intake of 232 g daily TOTAL. Good advice above - use green veg to bulk it out. Stick to it and the weight will come off! JWB senior light and Hills science light are lower calorie so they can eat more...volume being everything to the average lab!

Well done, slow n steady is the way to go,.

My sister got a shock last year when her lab weighed in at 33kgs and in all honesty we had all saw it on her. She was weighed for the final time last week(12mths after the weightloss started) and she weighed in at 27 kgs...absolutley perfect for her height and build, she's mostly showbred but a little short on height...lol.

She looks better for it, she gets 200grams of wainwrights a day bulked out with veg. Smile
