Sam a very good friend and a Vet Homeopath has kindly offered to answer those burning questions you have on Holistic animal care which includes Homeopathy, nutrition, T Touch and many alternative therapies.

She will answer any questions you may have on anything holistic.

If you have a poorly dog that isn't responding to regular vet treatment she asks that you fill in a questionaire so she can get a better understanding of your problem, the first treatment is totally free and any money she makes goes to charity that helps dogs in rescue.

So, please list any questions you may have, Sam has signed up to LF and will endeavour to help

You will also see her posting as Sam04 offering Holistic advice to some health questions to.

NOTE: Sam has been unwell of late and unable to come on the forum personally, but she has a small team who are helping and therefore will help anyone who emails her directly

I rescued a cat 5y/o 6 month ago.
She has a chronicle cat flu ,treated twice by the Vet of the Rescue with longterm Antibiotics and Metacam.

I started with a lot of things really, for example Schuessler salts
3,4 and 8 after a few month Nr. 2, 8 und 6
Plus i gave her Engystole for her imunsystem, Merurius for her throat as she has shown signs of pain and she can't say a "word"

Than the Herpes was seen
I had a go with
Kreosotum C30 and
Passiflora C30 for 2 weeks and tried than a Herpes simplex Nosode compained by Berberis and Solidago.

She is now on Bryonia one day , Mercurius the next day and Engystol the third day, everything once a day.
As food supplement I give her Vitamin K1 3 times a day and L-Lysin 3 times a day.
As food I give her usually chicken raw in the morning, fish raw in the evening and a high quality tin for lunch..
She is quite fine, her coat is very thick not losing lot of hairs, like she did at the beginning.
She put on wait, as she was very very thin at the beginning.
But it is not over, may be she never will be cured 100%..

But may be you have another idea to go ahead.

Welcome to LF Sam.

The use of complimentary treatment often arises on this forum and I am sure your input will be very welcome.

Though a former sceptic - I turned to an integrated practice in sheer desperation some time ago and have become an holistic "convert". I look forward with interest to reading your posts.

Thanks Jazz. I'll try to help if I am asked to, otherwise I will just enjoy the forums.

I use everything alternative at my disposal but I do diagnose very differently to a normal vet mainly because they don't have the time to do a 2 hour consult but I do. I am very 'into' old fashioned remedies as they've served me well over my years of working with all sorts of animals but my own animals basically taught me what to do and how to do a timeline diagnosis and to follow the problem back from a specific point, see where the problem began and then it becomes a bit like a roadmap. If we know the probem we also follow that to see what organs could be possibly weakened in the healing process and support those to give the body a general boost. It's fascinating work.

I don't write on boards as a rule but if I can help one person then it's been worth joining the board.

I have made up my own remedies to suit most problems and these are made up in my Lab. in London. We can be very specific on infections and virus's if we know the strain of what we are dealing with. So I tend to suggest my treatments because I do trust them and know how quickly they should work but I'll also try and keep an open mind.

I'm still thrilled at the results with Bomber and Vicki was the most perfect client and Bomber looks so good now, it's a far cry from the pictures I got during his 3 month vet treatment. Sadly their vet didn't approve of any other kind of care but Bomber wasn't a difficult diagnosis so it's always good to get a second opinion or referral if in doubt.

Just wanted to say that I am VERY much in the 'alternative, holistic' approach. My children haven't had any antibiotics in the last 15 years,. I think -but may get shot down, that vets prescribe AB's to quickly.

My mum was qualified to prescribe holistic medicine and taught me a lot.

Hi Sam,

One of my dogs Forrest has a wet exzema on his cheek and I have been using "flower of sulpfur", but everytime its gets better, my other dog licks it and we are back to square one. Mad Is there anything I can do to stop it , other than separate them? How long does it take to heal (providing it is ideal situation and no one is licking it) Smile

Thank you so much in advance
Sasha

Aggi keeps getting soggy ears. The vets have told us that her ear has too many folds in it, so the moisture gets trapped but I was wondering if you could suggest something that would help.

There is an operation but it seems so evasive..and is not guaranteed to help.

We have kept her from getting ear infections but she does get squidgy ears.

Is there anything in the ear, it red, does it have a strange sour smell
sulphur is safe but how are you using it?

Does she accept you cleaning them. How often you clean them and what do you clean them and what do you use ?

does she go into water much?

what did your vet diganose?

Does she shake her ears a lot?

If you can give as much information I will try to hep.
