I've had a pretty chaotic week with the dogs, but received something very special in the post this morning.

After Dexter died in July, I really didn't know what to do with his ashes. He was such a homebody, I know that he'd want to be with me rather than scattered outside somewhere. So I found this website:

http://www.ashesintoglass.co.uk/index-b.php

And decided a ring containing some of his ashes would allow me to always have him near. Luckily my Dad bought it for me, as I think he thought I'd just fall apart without Dexter.

It arrived this morning. They made me a turquoise one (not one of their standard colours, but doesn't come across too well in my photos) because Dexter's signature colour was a greeny-bluey-turquoise colour - this perfectly matches his best collar. It's engraved around the inside of the band with 'The Dexter Doodles Von Logan' - my silly name for him.

The company have been really good, and only require 1 teaspoon of ashes. I'd recommend them to anyone who is looking for a suitable tribute Smile

I think that's a lovely idea, really heart-warming.

When my oldies passed I carried their name tags with me for years, the tags had always been with them and it made me feel close, if I needed them with me holding the silver fob tight in my hand felt like it helped.
A ring is so much more beautiful and practical as a wonderful reminder.

A unique way of remembering him and keeping him close. I have also heard of human ashes being kept in this way. Very Happy
