Hi
I feed mine a mixture of raw and JWB - they love the white fish JWB and it is brilliant for the coats.

That having been said when my older male was very poorly after a throat operation, we fed him on chappie, and he thrived on it.

Kind Regards

Can anyone help us
We have a 14 week yello lab puppy called oscar. The breeder advised to continue to feed him on Hills Science for puppies. We wanted to change the food for something easier to get hold of and "cheaper" , we have tried bakers but it seems to go straight through him.
Does anyone have any suggestions???

Hi

I always worry about Bakers because of all the colours of the biscuits and the colourants that must have gone into it to make it those colours....

Anyway, my Charlie was fed on Hills Science diet when he was a puppy and he thrived on it - you can order it off of the internet if its a problem getting to a pet shop.

It probably wont be easy to find a good brand of food that is healthy and nutritional for Oscar at a cheap price - obviously you pay for what you get, and often like human food the more expensive something is the better it is.

Maybe you could think about keeping him on Hills if he it suited him?

I just changed Scooby to Autarky so I can't say how he is getting on with it apart from that he loves the taste and won't leave the bag alone. I got it from Jollyes pet food store and it was on special offer at about £12 for 15kg.

Although he is 8 months old, I have swapped to adult food as he has shot up in size and would be a great dane if it didn't stop!

He was on Bakers Complete and Beta Puppy from the breeders and I kept him on this and then fed just the Beta. I didn't realise it had all these derivatives and colourings and preservatives etc and so changed to a more natural product. Maybe his excitability could be all the 'e' numbers!

Well we've just gotten a bag of Autarky to try too. Holly was on Pedigree puppy, but we kept hearing some poor reports about this too. Then i was pleased to see today the our local Saps pet store sells Autarky.. in 3kg adn 15kg bags. I was unsure about ordering large bag from internet before incase it didnt suit her.

Hopefully she'll do well on this after all the rave revue ive read. We mixed it with pedigree tonight and it went down well Very Happy So we shall see...

I fed Buster on Hills Large Breed Puppy until he was 7 months and now he has Hills adult and he is doing well on it.

CJ and Cindy both get BARF, I get chicken backs from the butcher and then mince them, this is only cos a friend baulked at the idea of them having chicken bones, so I get them lamb necks too for their teeth.

I split their food into two meals, sposed to be better especially for labs as they are susceptible to bloat apparently.

They get vegetables too, I started off by jucing those as suggested online but Cindy would`nt eat them, so tried putting those through the mincer too, worked wonders!!, she loves it done that way.

At the moment Darcy is on Pedigree Chum puppy tins...she is still very loose but I'm hoping that this will get better. When she is older I expect I will change her on to Chappie, as Coco has this and it seems excellent...she has a good coat and maintains a good weight without getting fat. I do try to get the chicken and rice one though because the original smells horrible.

Hi Pam,

We feed Harvey Hills Science plan, since thats what the breeder fed him. We did change over once but it didnt suit him, so we changed back.

He's doing brilliantly on it Very Happy
