Hello,

I'm in a pickle with Berry...long story about a pipe bursting, builders not coming into the house when they said they were...has basically ended up in instead of them taking a week to complete the work (they only worked 3 days last week, despite telling insurance they worked 5..my neighbour is a good spy!) they will be back again tomorrow and cannot confirm how long they'll take to finish. I currently have no kitchen floor just concrete so....

My OHs mum had Berry all next week and has somewhat begrudginly agreed to have her again tomorrow as Berry cannot be home as she stays in the kitchen and I dont have any other rooms suitable for her to stay in. Plus she'd go mad knowing people were in the house and couldnt get at them.

OHs mum understandably has a life, and already has plans Tuesday onwards. I really cant afford the £15 minimum day care fees for potentially Tuesday-Friday so was hoping there would be someone who could do me a favour and help me out?

The builders come in at 9 and I know there isnt anyone else bar Sarah, who is unfortunately busy, who lives in Sandbach so I could drop Berry off on my way to Stone in Staffordshire

If anyone who lives in Crewe, Alsager, Rode Heath, Kidsgrove, Newcastle, Trentham, Stone or nearby could help me then please let me know and I will owe you one huge favour!

Bit of a long shot but I've got no other options bar asking my neighbour who is a bit weird and told me a story about his own dog being killed because his son left the gate open...so not the best option.

I'd have the time off work but cant because my manager is off and my job is hanging in the balance as it is. I have no family or other friends nearby who could help or who WILL help...got myself upset over it earlier but realised that wont achieve anything so now depserately trying to get this sorted! Nothing is ever simple!!

Thanks Diana, its ridiculous, they told me they'd need a week max so I palmed her off on OHs mum for a week and then find out they havent even bothered turning up for 2 days!

Fell out with my Dad over it so just had a very astmospheric lunch and absolutely cant take the time off work. My mum just slipped me £20 behind Dad's back so that'd pay for one day but just called the only lady I so far trust just in case that's my only option and she's fully booked for 2 weeks! Had a bad experience with a doggy day care person so very wary of these 'professionals' now...I'd honestly rather trust an LFer who I've potentially never even met!

I even dreamt last night that I snuck Berry into work with me and got caught, and that was before I found out OHs mum cant have her! it's just been constantly on my mind this week. If the stupid insurance people would have just fixed the pipe when it burst 3 months ago, or even fixed it when I told them I had almost 2 weeks off work, but no, they start the week my boss goes away and then dont finish it on time. Want to SCREAM!!

Sorry Sarah, I live in wrong direction and am in work all week. Hope you get something sorted for Berry - would you not put her in kennels for a couple of days, at least you know she would be safe.

I would if I could afford it Jo but I've already shelled out £50 vet fees, £75 car repairs, £145 TV licence, £210 car tax and £150 insurance excess this month..I'm totally maxed out. I really cant afford it at all and dont get paid again for 3 weeks. I'm already minus and owe on various bills, just a nightmare and to top it off I'm currently being attacked by some b*****d spider who wont leave me alone and Berry isnt quick enough to catch it. That's making me cry again and I'm currently stood on top of my table holding an unplugging laptop screaming at Berry to fetch it!

I understand about money being tight but its a one off. Beg, steal or borrow (ok, maybe not steal), make sure Berry is somewhere safe and you can go to work not worrying about her. That's if you don't get a very kind LFer able to help. Good luck!

I hope you find someone to help, or a situation you feel happy with. I wish I could help but I'm miles away. xx
