We stayed here for a short break earlier this year ..... http://www.number62.co.uk/ .

The place was lovely, clean, well equipped and surrounded by beautiful countryside, dog friendly beaches, hills and mountains (if you went a little further inland).

Both dogs and humans thoroughly enjoyed it on the Gower Very Happy .

Hi
I have 3 great places I can recommend. All lovely and all dog friendly. I use the Alistair Sawdays website a lot. You tend to get much nicer accommodation. A lot of dog friendly places don't seem to be that nice. We get left with the dregs!!

We just got back from a week here in North Yorkshire
http://www.iknow-yorkshire.co.uk/accommodation/26992-flamborough_rigg_cottage_b_and_b-pickering.htm

Last year we went to 2 places
http://www.littlequebbcottages.co.uk/
This is Herefordshire.Equally lovely. The owners of 2 of my walkie dogs went there last week and adored it.

Finally, this one in the Yorkshire Dales
http://www.jerryandbens.co.uk/
Joal went last year and also loved it

Have a look at the sites. They are all brilliant.

Here's another one in the Dales I'd like to go to

Last year (and also in Oct this year) we have stayed at Grace Cottage. It is quote remote but lovely if you are wanting peace and quiet.

http://www.gracecottages.co.uk/

10% goes to Many Tears charity and they have no limit on dog numbers.

We stayed here for our Honeymoon,
http://www.kingairloch-holidays.co.uk/gate-lodge-cottage
it was fantastic, very secluded we occasionally saw a couple of horses go past but that was pretty much it. We went walking for hours on the hills opposite the cottage and in the evenings the deer would come down and we could hear them and just make out their outlines as it was dark. The dogs loved it straight out of the door into the Loch. Just make sure you are prepared as the nearest shop is a fair few miles away and we forgot to pack the coffee lol.

The other place is http://scotchcoulthard.co.uk/ very friendly family and are very welcoming to dogs. A few people from here have been and really enjoyed it, the only downside is you may get mugged by 5 yellow labs at some point lol

Hi
We stayed in a very well equipped cottage in Trelech South West Wales. The cottage was home from home and very dog friendly, the owner had even put in a bed, towels, food bowls and a bag of treats as a welcome for Rosie. There was a field we could use in the mornings and night for the first and last wee's etc, which was about a minute away from our front door. It was about 15 minutes from Carmarthan and Newcastle Emlym. The beaches and coastal walks were fantastic. First time on holiday with Rosie and we all had a fantastic time. Cannot praise the cottage enough. Website was the West Wales Holiday Cottages and was Wauntnor Cottages. There is a one bedroomed cottage or a two bedroomed cottage and they also had a 8 berth caravan in another field.

How about ireland? we have just come back from 2 weeks in this cottage

which is about a mile from this beach

It's basic but comfortable, and surrounded by fields, sea and mountains. It is quite remote but has a shop around 400 yards up the road which sells everything.

We have recently had an enjoyable week in Berwickshire at Press Mains cottages
at www.watchbadgers.co.uk which is dog friendly and only 10 minutes drive from Coldingham Sands (dogs to be kept on lead in summer) lovely empty beach in October.

We have also been at Scotchcoultard.. brilliant for dogs.

We've had 2 separate weeks at this lodge this year and have booked to go in July and September next year.

Great walks and beaches (especially Fraisthorpe beach and Hunmanby Gap).

We had a lovely week here, with great walks, lots to see and plenty of peace and quiet. Lovely cosy cottage in south Lakes but not touristy.
