Lovely pedigree! But why do you say Drakeshead? Yes there are a few at the back, but there are some lovely dogs at the front. Personally I love the Levenghyl dogs.

aha...Smile you see what I mean about not knowing my Drakeshead from my Levenghyl.... Are the latter good working dogs?

Absolutely first class. Out of the top 6 dogs last year in the IGL Retriever Championship, the most important trial in the working calendar, three were Levenghyl. Peacock, Silver Cloud and Sun Dancer. Although different sires to Isle of Staffa, all three were out of Glenpatrick Eve, Isle of Staffa’s dam! Silver Cloud was also third in 2008. Eve herself was third in 2001 and Garendon Captain also won the championship in 1998. Then there is Aughacasla Sam of Drakeshead. Sam never won, but he sired one of (to my mine) very best working dogs, Craighorn Bracken, who is the great grand sire of my Amy.

That should give you a feel for the dogs in your pedigree, but I could say so much about so many of the dogs in there. Yes there are some great Drakeshead dogs in there but they are just part of the whole.

Regards, John

Brilliant John,

thanks for that info. It's somewhat strange that by luck (and no design) I have happened upon Polly who as my nick name suggests, is quite simply, perfect and turning out to be a brilliant gundog who learns amazingly quickly. It now seems that her pedigree might have something to do with it!!

Now if I could only get FTCH after her name...... Wink
