Sarah (SarahJaneP) and I are going to be organising games that we can play with our Labs at the main GT in August.
So far we have decided to include the two most popular from last year which were:
Labrafooty and The Sausage and Spoon Race.
We don`t want to have to many as there`ll be an entrance fee for each one which will of course go towards the charities that will be benefitting on the day.
Would like to know if any of the members have any ideas of good but not to complicated games that can be played, also ones that don`t take to long, so it doesn`t get boring for the dogs or us
What about 'find it' This is Doobie fav game and all I do is throw a bit of sausage when he isn't looking (when we are at the park) and get him to find it. He loves that game! We could time how long it takes for them to find it!
I`d forgotten the Musical Statues Fay, yes we can have that one again
Find it sounds good Sonia, may depend on how many enter though, couldn`t have them all finding it at the same time , plenty of treats going round that day with all the sausage being used , they`ll love it.
variation on the theme of find! get a great big cardboard box or similar, cut it down sothe sides are not too high fill it with straw/sawdust and put a few toys etc in it and then get the dogs to hunt through the straw/sawdust. when they retrieve it swap for a treat
How about something to do with paddling pools......like a little obstacle course or similar with paddling pools to wade through, hula hoops to jump through, cones to weave through?
Or see how many balls you can retrieve from the pool in a set time?
