Not really a harness/lead/collar post but similar...
Do any LFers have coats for their dogs? It is tipping it down here today and when we were out we saw a man with two dogs wearing what can only be described as waterproof jumpsuits - like this http://www.canineconcepts.co.uk/item--Shower-Proof-Trouser-Suit--dog-trouser-suit---dogs - what a funny sight, don't think I will be getting one but in all fairness unlike me I suppose he won't have had two muddy wet dogs when he got home!
I always wear my coat in the rain even though my skin and hair are waterproof so I suppose there's nothing against a dog doing the same..
I have read that some working dogs put a 'jumper' on to dry off/keep warm after working so maybe it isn't so strange.
Thinking about it, such 'suits' could be very handy for keeping them away from stitches etc if they'd had an op...
Most labs already have a waterproof coat, the one they were born with , it`d ruin CJ`s street cred to go in a jumpsuit, Cindy`s too I think, I do agree though that the towelling type bags that they can be put in in the car after a wet walk are a good idea, it dries them quickly and stops them getting cold.

Cassie had a coat last winter in the snow because her coat was still a bit thin. My old Dilly boy also had one in his later years for the winter time. Drying him off in the wet was much easier.
But I don't use dog coats just for wet weather... I think they like being wet!

Billy my cocker has one of those coats he's much happier wearing it in the winter than getting wet and covered in snow balls during the snow although he doesn't wear it at the moment as its not cold enough.
i would never dream of putting one on Alfie though, he would hate it and definately doesn't need it
Thanks folks I may get Sam a warm coat in the winter if he hasn't fattened up by then, but I seriously hope he will have then it won't be necessary! It was a funny sight in the park though.

I know I said I never would, but after the many tennis ball sized ice balls which attached themselves to Pood last winter, I "might" get one for her....Just for if it snows again.
I'd not put a coat on a Lab though, unless it was old, frail or ill, etc. Mine charge about far too much, they would boil under a coat and not be comfortable at all.
I bought a t-shirt for Anna to keep her tummy in check when she first came home, but she no longer needs it. The only coat Indy has worn is a thin hi-vis one for walking in the dark, mainly in winter, but this was only when she was tiny for a little bit of extra warmth for her puppy coat and to stop her being stood on
Otherwise, no. I'd not bother with a coat until the Lab becomes elderly and perhaps has creaky joints which are eased by wearing a jacket in the winter
i agree - i think tiber would be embarrassed if i put a coat on him... But I would consider putting it on an elderly or ill lab.
My mum and dad say the only time they felt that our labs was cold was when it had been snowing lots and my parents (before they had me or my sisters!) had walked down through a park in the snow to the butchers with our first lab. They had been having a play in the snow and dad then waited outside the butchers with Ben whilst mum went in. It was 2 days before new year and there was a massive queue so mum was waiting for ages to get served - so much so that Ben actually started to shiver and dad had to get mum to leave and come back later! Apparently they hiked it back home and Ben was fine by the time they were home.
