It is not the end of the world, of course, but I am in absolute agony about my brand new MMG dog cage.
It arrived all nicely packaged yesterday afternoon, but I was only able to assemble it today. To my horror, something went wrong in the production and the cage is ever so slightly larger than my boot, so much so that my boot won't properly close. I had to bring the back passenger seats forward to the closest settings to fit the cage, but the trouble is that my family is all Dutch and they need every extra inch of leg room! So, the cage cannot stay like this on the permanent basis. My hubby is away and will arrive tomorrow and I am so worried that he will get upset that I have spent good money but for the product that does not fit.
I have just sent an email to MMG sales and will see what they will say on Monday, but has anybody dealt with them in the past? Are they any good at resolving problems? I still like what I got, just want it to fit properly!..

I've got a full MMG car cage and when I had a few problems fitting it ( my mistakes ) they were very helpful and even emailed me back a few days later to make sure everything was sorted to my satisfaction
I'm no expert on consumer rights, but I think that according to the long distance selling laws, you have the right to return it for a refund.
Would you consider a tailgate guard instead? We have a barjo one and it's really good. Then it doesn't matter about the position of the back seats.

Tailgate guards are brilliant to stop dogs jumping out but do nothing to protect the cars passengers in the event of an accident so, pesonally I wouldn't use just a tailgate guard
If you`ve had it specially made I think the position on sending it back will be different, you will need to prove that the error is theirs and not yours in measuring the boot, I`m not sure on this though so it may be best to have a look online and see if you can find out.
they were fab when i ordered my tail gate guard. My boot is a weird shape so could have a cage.
Bit confused gnome, i have a dog guard at the top the rear seats and a tail gate guard. Dogs and passengers are all safe. Means i can use all of my boot too

I have received the cage yesterday and assembled it today. I have only supplied the company with the make and model of the car, and the year of production, but not any of the measurements. Ideally, I would like the MMG guys to sort this cage out as I think it is the best way to will protect the family, Cocoa and my beautiful car from accidents of various kinds.
I think you should take photos of the way it fits (or rather doesn't) with the seats in a normal position and send the pictures to MMG. It sounds like they are pretty good with their customer service so hopefully they will sort you out.
