Yes, I know, I must be raving mad.
I have really enjoyed organising the GT, the weekend was a success and the company with all their doggies was wonderful.
I know I have to recover from this one but due to the seemingly great time had by all, (definitely including me and the kiddies), I’ve been having a walk around and a thunk.
The Scarborough GT could become an annual event.
Below are a few ideas for 2011 and thereafter, I’m open to all/any suggestions from other folk. There’s plenty of time to plan but things have to be organised.
Some of my ideas for next time:
1. Sometime between beginning of June and end July 2011 (long weekend, Fri-Mon)
2. Hopefully caravans allowed (the field will be enlarged early next year anyway) but I will need local authority advice.
3. A treasure hunt around the local fields instead of ‘mind walking’.
4. Clay pigeon shoot one afternoon
5. A proper bonfire (but no fireworks)
6. BBQs (of course)
7. Agility / gundog / flyball / whatever (an area can be overgrown for blind retrieves etc.) I don’t do serious, so there will be no officialdom, no competition, no prizes; it will be a fun weekend only.
8. Sleeping-bag race (sponsored by frilly)
9. Maybe I'll get a large gazebo or something in case the weather isn’t too good.
10. Whatever anyone else suggests.
All suggestions will be appreciated, nothing is fixed and all can easily be changed.
So, what do you think?
And may the gods take pity.

I think it's a great idea as long as it doesn't clash with anything else ie the Rendlesham GT (9th/10th July next year I think)
I am sorry I missed it this year, but would love to come next year if I can sort it out

That's something that will have to be watched for.
Maybe late May to end of June or Middle August to middle September.
It doesn't matter as long as I have plenty of time to arrange stuff.
Sounds great Bob although there`s not only Rendlesham that has become an annual event, so has the charity gundog day too, I`m sure though that Scarborough can be fitted around both
Deffo Bob. It was brilliant fun. I also don't do serious, and am happy to go along with anything anyone else wants to organise. I'd happily camp as I am a seasoned camper.
Please put my name down, but not during the week of 14-21 May or 27 sept-4th october.
Great weekend Bob. Put me down for next year too. I enjoyed the mind walking but Pat beat us all - her legs took her through a new gate all the way to a style
