without clogging up your washing machine?!

We're taking Lols up to stay w OH's parents this weekend and haven't got room for her xl zippy in my pokey wee car. Instead am taking her old donut bed from her crate. Problem is it's thick with yellow lab hair and a bit grubby so am wanting to wash it before we go. Any tips on how to stop the hair going all over the machine? Have tried hoovering it but with no success as our hoover isn't picking up much.

Should be an interesting weekend as the inlaws have a dog as well - a jack russell x poodle Shocked - that Lola has never met. Have already had a dream where Lola had little Sophie's tail dangling innocently from her chops having just swallowed her...!

All tips gratefully received!

Lots of sellotape to pick the hairs off,
Tumble dryer on cold.
A really good shake in the garden.

Have used all these on my lots beds with varying degrees of sucess!!

Hope this is of use!!

I just give them a shake and stick 'em in the washing machine, then rinse out the machine when it's finished to get rid of the hairs.

I wouldn't worry about the little dog with Lola. If she does swallow it whole, it'll eat it's way out from the inside (think Alien here), as both Poodles and JRT's are as tough as old boots and wont let a bit of being swallowed get them down. Wink Laughing Laughing

I have a special wash bag to put the dogs beds in and the hair goes in there instead of the machine. When finished just shake the hairs out of the bag. Easy peasy.

Like a specially designed one? An old gym bag had crossed my mind but it wasn't big enough. Where did you get yours from, if you don't mind me asking?

You can buy wash bags at www.petplanet.co.uk.

I've often thought of buying one but so far I run the washing machine on a hot wash but empty after washing the dog's bedding.
