You don't have to - it's up to you.

Many feed their dogs twice and stay at that, we're going to.

Labs love their dinner time so much, and it seems a bit easier on their tummies too.

It really is your own personal choice.
I'd say anytime after about 8 months you could drop to one meal a day if you wish.
My OH feeds his dog one meal a day. He has done for years and years.
Its all about what works for you and your dog.

With our other dogs we would feed x1 meal per day. However, they were all older dogs. Ruby was our 1st puppy and we now find it suits us better with 2 smaller meals per day (usually 0630 weekdays / later on weekends and then again at 1800 - 19008).

I've recently dropped Buddy to one meal a day - when is the best time to feed? I have been feeding him when I get in from work at about 5:30pm and then walk him at 7, when he usually toilets, and I let him out again at about 10pm just incase - but he's been waking up increasingly earlier to go out - 4am this morning!!! Shocked I realise I would be better off walking him first and feeding him later (which I will start tonight) - will this help the toilet times? I hope so, have been walking round like a zombie for days (mind you he's always been an early riser - usually 5:30, which I was almost used to) I have a blanket over his crate etc so I don't think it the light mornings/birds tweeting that are waking him.

Many Thanks
Ang & Bud

Dan has two, equal meals a day and always will. I feel its healthier to have two smaller meals rather than one big meal and he doesn't seem to be particulary hungry (obviously in a non-hungry lab kind of a way!!). But that's just me. He has breakfast at about 7ish and then tea somewhere between 6 & 7. He has a poo in the morning first thing, another one on our morning walk and then usually another one later in the day.

I think its up to you and how your dog is.
