I am with Argos and I think they are really good. Lilly was diagnosed with hip dysplacia and so far they have paid for 36 sessions of hydro and have confirmed that she is insured for HD. Mind you, our limit is £7000 per incident for life so not sure whether one hip will be insured up to £7000 or whether both will - cross that bridge when I come to it.

Lilly has had a couple of minor ops and Argos have always paid within two weeks - no quibbling.

Good luck.

xx

I was quoting from here:
http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CreditAndInsuranceView?langId=-1&storeId=10001&page=Credit%20%26%20Insurance%20homepage|Insurance|Pet%20Insurance

It says:
Platinum Cover
Covers vets fees up to £7,000 per year, per condition, with no limit to the length of treatment providing your premiums are kept up to date but on other parts of the website it maybe says differently Sad

That's really strange, when you goto Pet Insurance via the main Argos.co.uk site (as you have done) it says per year, per condition, but if you goto their pet insurance mini site (argos-pet-insurance.co.uk) it simply says per year. I'll give them a call tomorrow and try to find out for you, as it's something we'll need to get clarified for ComparePetCare.co.uk comparison tables!

Will let you know if I get an answer from them Smile
Greg

Thanks Greg - it probably is per year, rather than condition, but they need to make sure their website is consistent! Smile

Sorry didn't get a chance to call them yesterday... just gave them a call, and had it confirmed that it is just per year, not per year + per condition, so their website (the main Argos.co.uk one) is actually incorrect, and they said they will be updating that ASAP.

Hope that helps! Just goes to show how misleading it can be!!!
Greg

Thank you Greg; I appreciate you going to the trouble of clarifying that. I decided to go with Argos this year anyhow, see how we get on. No doubt, this time next year, I'll be looking around for quotes again.

That actually gives me an idea, we could setup a little reminder e-mail service, so we send you an automated e-mail 3-4 weeks before policy renewal date, along with the latest discounts, etc at the time.. thanks! Could be a handy feature!

That does sound like a good and useful idea!

Given the change in what they offer, is this still a good cover to take out?

I need to get something sorted today and i am really swaying towards Argos!

Thanks from a very confused Emma!! Laughing

I have Argos insurance for Bailey and when taking out the policy was on the understanding that it was £7k per condition per year.... hhmmmm... will defo have to dig my policy out and check that now. Only had it a couple of months and may have to take that up with them.... surely it must have some legal obligation as sold to me as per conditino per year?.. as everything though I guess I need to check the actual policy, something which I don't usually tend to do!! That will teach me!
