Me and my OH are wimping out and will be staying the the Welcome Break Travel Lodge on the Saturday night of the GT! Just being nosey about what everyone else is doing?
By the time I had brought a tent and everything it would have worked out similar Mary! AND when I asked my OH if he wanted to camp or stay in a hotel, he had said hotel about six times before I had even finished speaking so I dont think he was keen on a tent
how funny - my husband is a bit dubious still but by the time august comes round I'll have him thinking it was his idea to camp heheheheheh. I am going to buy a super dooper inflatable mattress and sure we'll be fine - I am quite looking forwrd to it to be honest
I'm planning to camp, i only have a smallish tent though and i don't really want to buy a bigger one just for the GT. My mum doesn't know it yet but i'm hoping to drag her along so it should be a laugh sleeping in a small tent with Alfie but if she refuses then we'll have to opt for staying in a hotel but i'll try my best to convince her that camping is a good idea
Can you book your pitch at the campsite online Mary? do you know the website address please?
Camping for us, book fast as there are not many pitches left apparently (thks for the tip Vicky)
National booking line for Caravan and Camping Club 0845 1307633 and ask for Kingsbury Water Park, but you can only book a minimum of 2 nts and its £38 for the pitch or if you are a CCC member you get £10.40 off.

I booked mine through the central number Lacey, as the site one was engaged .
The central one is: 0845 130 7633 you`ll need to know the measurement of the tent your going to be using, if you havn`t got it yet you can still book I think, as long as the tent isn`t going to be above a certain measurement
I had to pay a £15 deposit by credit card as well, leaving £9.60 to pay when I get there. Not sure if they charge by tent size.
