Does anyone know of a good company to hire a motor home from?
We live in Leeds but are prepared to travel a reasonable distance to collect one.
I have tried to convince OH to camp at the GT in Aug but he's having none of it so I suggested hiring a motorhome but not having done this before I haven't a clue how much or where from.
ooohhh I looked at doing this I just googled and the ones I came up with didnt hire for weekends in peak time only weeks and you are looking at £500 plus. If anyone knows any that do then I would be interested too..........................
Why won`t your oh camp Sally?, likes his home comforts a bit too much? , a lot of us camped last year, it was great, we were mostly in the same area and all met up at Dave and Julie`s motorhome on friday and sat evenings for a BBQ.
The facilities were very good and it was reasonably priced I thought, sorry can`t help on the hire of a motorhome, hope someone can though, just thought I`d mention camping isn`t as hard it may appear, aimed at your OH rather than you of course
was thinking about the camping thing.. right.. sorry to hijack topic.. BUT how did you manage to put your tent up with a dog around!?! I'm looking at coming by myself, with 2 dogs (unless amber's in season - bet that's when it'll be!!). did you manage to leave the dogs in tents while you went to the loo/shower?? i know i'm a glutten for punishment having 2 mad labs by myself, but i manage in normal situations, worried about camping though
Mary he's a wuss of the biggest variety, we've always gone camping as kids and adults but he's led a very sheltered life my OH. I took him to 3 local camping shops to buy a tent in the sale and the bottom lip was out all the way round.
We will be camping cos I usually get my own way ... oops... I mean win him round but if you see a bloke in a lounger with his arms crossed and the bottom lip out that'll be my OH. pmsl
LMAO Jules, I`m sure he`ll enjoy himself, everyone seemed to last year.
Clare, I got one of those spiral metal stakes that go a good way into the ground, CJ was attached to it on his normal lead and it kept him there.
There`s a pic in the albums of him waiting for me to come back from the toilets, he was very good on it, except this year he won`t be staked quite so close to the tent!!, last year he chewed through one of the guy ropes
This year hell be in his crate in the car while the tent goes up, that way he`ll be out of the way and the tailgate can be left open while I`m busy
Clare - We have a metal peg, that screws into the ground, and Harvey was safely attached to that while we put the tent up Im sure someone would watch your Labs while you use the loo
I've got one of those spirally things, didn't know if there were rules about leaving dogs on them in public... but if it worked for you last year, it'll probably work with my 2, as long as they don't bark their heads off
think i'll have to recruit someone to come with me.... hmmmmmm....
I got mine in Asda, don`t know if they`ll have them this year though, hopefully should be able to get them in camping shops though.
Clare I`m sure people will be willing to help you out, I expected CJ to yell his head off when I left him, but he didn`t, he was very much better behaved than I thought he would be all round really
