He hasn't made it to the next stage.
I a way I'm relieved because I knew he was too hyper to be trusted in harness, and very glad that they have his welfare at heart. He really wouldn't be happy being reined in all the time. But such a clever dog, knew all his stuff so in a way I'm proud of him too.
He's too boisterous for Megan so we really can't offer him a forever home. But we know there are loads of lovely people on the list waiting for a dog they can train to something really energetic to mop up his excitement.
I can't praise Forfar and my Super enough for the sensitive way they are dealing with this, and keeping us in the loop - they really do love the dogs and want the best for them.
Good Luck Mitch for your Forever Home

I`m sorry to hear Mitch didn`t make it, but its good to hear the trainers have his best interests at heart and will find him a home where maybe he can do something that will allow him to expend his energy

Oh no! That's a shame. Bit sad that he would be too hyper for Megan too, but I know lots of people on the lists will love him. Ask them to send him to me. I've been assessed and approved for an assistance dog but I'm not blind or deaf, other health problems I won't go into here, so he could come and live with me, bounce about as much as he liked and chase our Sam, my parents dog who spends all day with me!
Like you I am really impressed with the way Guide Dogs work with the dogs, people etc. Real dedication. Super organisation.

Ah, that's a shame But good that they think of the dog first and decide that that isn't a role to suit him.

Have you heard anything else about Mitch? Has he got his forever home yet?
