After a few false starts, our vet finally got our claim in for Pasco current troubles. They faxed the form on Tuesday morning last week and the cheque came today! So that had to have been posted on Friday. Tuesday to Friday for a claim of nearly £3000! Amazing!
Theres a small quibble on our part in that they haven't paid for the food portion of the claim at all which we feel is an error, but I will discuss that with them tomorrow.
Am very very impressed with the speed at the claim has been settled - credit to them! Praise where praise is due!

Thats great Fee, I think you may find they won`t pay the food side, it`ll be similar to our house ins I think, Pasco would have been fed whether he`d been in vets or not.
When I had my fire they only covered my rent not what I ate as well, I can see the logic although it does stick a bit
The policy allows for £200 for food that leads to a diagnosis - they were using the special food to allow diagnosis, so they should pay for the food up and until the biopsy results that gave the diagnosis of Eosinophilic Gastroenteritis. I suspect the vet just didn't annotate the form correctly so hopefully we will get some - probably half of the £227 for food back!
The vet himself is annoyed that they don't consider the food in the same way as other prescribed drugs as it is an integral part of the treatment for the condition. Prescription food... prescription drug....

I was really impressed with them too; they paid within days for my small claim for Logie and also really quickly with the larger portion.
Since you can download the forms I hadn't read the small print that you should inform them beforehand if your pet is having anything major done.
When I read that part Logie already had had his op and I phoned them then and they were really nice about it all. The man I spoke to told me not to worry about the claim and just to think about my dog.
My total claim was over £6000 and the only thing they didn't pay was for a harness which I thought was fair enough. I was also impressed that they paid for travel which was good for us as we had to travel to Glasgow twice which was 180 miles x 2.
Lora and Ben were insured with other companies who take ages to pay and that was especially annoying as we had to pay the vet first. Thankfully Glasgow Vet School were happy to take direct payment.
That's brilliant, I'm still waiting for £900 of Basils from February from direct line
It used to be 14 days but since December snow it went up to 4 weeks and now 6weeks (or nearly 8 in our case).
