Strange question i know......

Winston is really into to swimming at the moment... and i took his collar off yesterday after his swim in the sea and it smelt really awful!!! Rolling Eyes Embarassed

So i was thinking of getting him a waterproof one for his swim outtings!!
But do they smell - I will be washing them but i just thought i would ask.... as im sick of washing winnies collars all the time....and i was wondering if i could get it a quick wipe over once i take it off and then wash it less than his normal collars??

Does anyone have a Dublin Collar? Are they as good as they look?? Very Happy

No they don't get smelly, well unless you have a "roller" but even then a quick rinse under the tap and they come up clean again.

The only thing I would guard against is if you have a Puller, as they can and do stretch.

We have just had 4 days in Eyemouth and Holly has been in the sea (BRRR) every day and no they definately do not smell, I am well impressed although as she pulls like mad we didn't use it for attatching her lead.

They stretch enough for the dog to be able to back out of the collar easily if it wants to.

My sister did have one snap but it sort of perished after about a year of continous wearing, by a dog who loves to wallow and roll in everything. I guess any collar would have given up the ghost after that sort of treatment Wink .

I bought one for my collie as he loves to roll and I think it's great and it doesn't smell at all. If he rolls in fox poo and gets it on the collar I wash it with some ketchup (as I do him!) and then an antibacterial soap and it doesn't smell at all.

He's not really a puller but he wears a harness so I don't have to worry about it stretching but I gather they do.

Mine aren't pullers 98% of the time but i always use a slip lead when they wear their dublin collars just to be on the safe side. I find them fab collars though Very Happy
