I've just been to my local pet suppliers to get Rosie some more food. She has about half a big sack of Beta left and thought this would be good time to change her on to Skinners F&T puppy by gradually mixing it with Beta. The suppliers dont stock F&T puppy but can order it in. The responce i got from the suppliers was why are you changing food when Beta is a far better food than skinners. Needless to say i left without ordering any food and rather confused, so whats your views PLEASE...

Chris..

Hi, is Beta more expensive than Skinners? Just wondered if your supplier may be trying to keep you buying a more expensive product...I've not used Beta, I tried the Skinners Duck and Rice and it gave both of mine the runs so you may be best to get a small bag first if you go for Skinners just to make sure it agrees with your girl before getting a big sack.

I would disagree and say Skinners is a better food personally.

Besides that! You don't have to justify to the pet shop which food you choose!

I would be looking for an online supplier and toot sweet! Wink

Wouldn't be surprised, though a little dissapointed if the margin was higher on Beta than Skinners therefore they would make more money. Dissapointing service there from the shop. If they though Beta was so much better, why could then not explain that or show that to you?!

I don't like Beta because it is made by Purina, who are owned by Nestle. And thats a whole can of worms right there!!!!!

I've recently changed Alfie from beta to skinners and he is thriving on it. He had a good coat, teeth , slightly dry skin on it and his ears were not getting any better. Plus its a few quid cheaper too.

Seen a big improvement in his ears and his coat has even more of a shine to it now and the poo's...2 a day nice and firm.

I get my skinners from the local dog kennel who order it in for me every four weeks and only £1 to the price of the bag to cover delivery.

Skinners should be cheaper than Beta because it is sold as a working dog food and as such it is exempt from VAT.

Regards, John

Edited to add:- If I could not get my usual food, Masters, then Skinners would be my choice.

We would not say anything against beta ,.as it suits many dogs.We have used skinners for a number of years now. and are very pleased with their dog food range.

Im certainly no expert but think Skinners is far superior compared with Beta.

If you contact Skinners they are very helpful, will give you details on your local stockists and send you some free trial bags Smile

They did say that Skinners contained more additives which could send her hyper. But looking on skinners web site and reading the Beta pack i would say its the complete opposite Rolling Eyes .

I have no major issues with Beta, Rosie's poo's are nice and firm, and she 's growing nicely although she does have slightly dry skin and i thought a change in diet may improve this Question
